Starting a new playthrough of Fallout 4 with as many Fallout 3 styled mods as I can. The idea is to make The Commonwealth feel more like an extension of the post-atomic east coast (more Fallout 3) and less a completely separate entity with crazy robot androids, wholly unique weapons and armor, and lore that shares little in common with the previous titles. This is my collection of Nexus mods with the continuity of Fallout 3 + NV kept in mind, and if anyone has mods that would aid the established lore of Fallout, please share them below!

Wasteland Imports: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3793

adds many items from previous games (primarily New Vegas) as new items into fallout 4, such as the good ol skill books, caravan lunches, Doctor's Bag, Cat Eye, etc etc

A Bundle of Tape: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/26076

adds in the Good ol Vermint Rifle (a staple of New Vegas imo) among many other weapons that i believe are also from the previous games

Chinese Stealth Suit: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20959 <-- Fallout 3 (granted it was part of the DLC but still) you added the X-02 and X-03 PA so theirs no reason not to also add this.

and of course the ultimate Connection to New Vegas (Due to it being Iconic), which i am surprised you did not add to your list: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9034

the NCR Veteran Ranger.

Thanks for the new mods! And yes, I didn't include the NCR vet armor or the Wasteland Imports due to the invasive nature of NV stuff on continuity. They were going in my original post, but why would the desert ranger armor appear in Boston? Why would chems, food, and apparel from Nevada be suddenly so prominent across the entirety of the Post-War Commonwealth? If there was a way to isolate the stuff added in from Fallout 3 and Tactics, I would have fit the Imports mod at the top of my list for sure.

"but why would the desert ranger armor appear in Boston?"

somebody moved from the mojave into the boston, and likewise took their desert ranger armor with them,

or, somebody has connections to the mojave and got the desert ranger armor imported.

realistically, it would be the exact same reason why we have stuff that is made in other countries. importing.

imagination is key.

the game is fictional, while it may be based on real places, the actual real places will not have anything from the game, so thinking the desert ranger armor being in the boston is far fetched is completely redundant, because i bet Boston in irl does not have Super Mutants, Deathclaws etc etc. you would use your imagination to explain why something is now in a place it should not be.

with that said the exact same can be said for hellfire armor, why would enclave gear be in the commonwealth, when they purposely disappeared in fallout 3, even more so the X01 makes no sense either and yet bethesda put it in. works both ways. truth is, the enclave has completely disappeared and yet their gear is found absolutely everywhere, so these mods i linked are minor compared to that fact. and their is no reason why they would not also be found in the commonwealth, doctors in the commonwealth might of known doctors in the mojave and they shared ideas on chems and what not, and thus the doctors in the commonwealth learned how to make cat eye, doctors bags, fixer, etc etc.

that would also apply to the majority of the mods you linked, all of them are from previous games which are based in very different locations, so if you really want to go deep into it, none of them clothes or weapons would be found in the commonwealth, even in irl clothing and weaponry is not found everywhere (the only way to get specific stuff is through the method of importing).

importing would not of been a new idea pre-war. so whos to say their are those from the desert, moved to boston, and likewise took their gear from the desert into boston.

you said you wanted stuff that fits the lore, Ncr Veteran ranger armor fits the lore perfectly. as said it is iconic. it could be ideal for the glowing sea, does not have to be exclusively for deserts. it is literally called Ncr Veteran Ranger armor, nothing about the name or the looks of the armor would indicate in can only be exclusively used and found in the desert.

and not too mention the Veteran Ranger Armor mod is unique, it is not crafted, it is not in the leveled lists, it is simply placed in a very specific location, thus granting the ability to think it was a 1 of a kind import, that cannot be found anywhere else. just have to use your imagination.

and finally, Obisidian are the ones that made the fallout lore, members of Obsidian are members that worked on the original Fallout games (and because black rock isle and interplay does not make fallout anymore, the torch is passed on to Obsidian). so to be fair, obsidian entertainment is Fallout, not Bethesda. which means New Vegas is more Fallout then 3 and 4
