Sarah Irons sought to meet WarDuchessSAI99, along with the Ironstroopers, while Shyla Irons tried to find WarChiefSAI61 taking her Ironsscouts with her, of course; both had Roborobots with them. PrimeElder Irons received brief, heavily coded, messages from Saraa and Shyla along with Elaine plus other Techordlers. Elaine met with BabyDukie at the same time-place.

The PaleOneMan was very busy in the deeper parts of the OldPentagon.

The WastelandsEWS was reacting to the sudden arrival of the TechOrderhood as in the newly forming TechChapterEWS, especially both the factions and factionless closer to the OldPentagon. The big concern was how that would effect the balance of power in the area.

There was the struggling, barely organised, Settlements League EWS (SLEWS) based in Quadtowertown being also with Rivercity, Cratertown, CanterburyTown, FortMajestic and others.

The SLDC based SheriffsEWS, MarshalsEWS and RangersEWS.

There were the SLEWS Allied Subwayers based in part of the better condition WashingtonEWS Subway Network.

There were the aggressively criminal SyndicatesEWS based in SyndicateCityEWS.

There were the fiercely competitive GuildsDC based in CanterburyTown.

There were the Apocalypse Children based in Cratertown.

There were the ReconRangers based in more than one hidden site.

There were the SyndicateMercenaries based in FortFalcon.

There was the infiltrating, troublesome, TriInstitutecorp based in far off NewBritain.

There was the brutally fascist AxisEnclaven coming steadily from the SouthEast America.

There were the Packraiders coming from the east as based at somewhere unknown.

There was the GaiaOrderhood, of Orders, being based somewhere to the far west of EWS.

There were the Slayertors who were an exotic outfit dealing with more extreme, exotic, threats and related mysteries. Their source was a mystery.

There were others of which some were extremely exotic such as the PaleOneMan and the Shadowlords.

There were also others more general, and mundane be they settlers, tribals, bandits, scavengers, gangers, raiders, mutaraiders, Guildless artisans, varied kinds of mutaghouls, trogs, rogue robots, surviving Soviet soldiers, along with mutacreatures from mere mutacritters to dangerous mutabeasts along with mutahumans and mutahulks.

There were also... possibly... the Cattaband, the Illuminati, the Templars and others to be added, maybe.

Elaine faced a circular row of nine small beings being SneakyDukie, formerly called WarDukie, BabyDukie, FartyDukie, GigglyDukie, SmartyDukie, TuffyDukie, ChattyDukie, ReadyDukie and SleepyDukie. They were all drinking fruit shakes through thick straws while Elaine spoke to them.

Elaine: “It is wonderful to meet you all since you are wonderful one and all.”

SneakyDukie: “Me think so too.” ‘Me’ meant the nine of them being almost as one entity.

ChattyDukie: “Yes yes ye, me think so very much so that it is wonderfully wonderful.”

FartyDukie farted in a strange melodious manner and in a manner smelling of fruit shake; somehow, amazingly enough, it also provoked a sense of pleasurable distraction. All nine of the SweetyDukies laughed and Elaine showed good manners by joining in.

Elaine: “I want to ask you an important set of questions before we have a nice fun time together.”

SmartyDukie: “We could have the fun time first, Elaine sweetie.”

Elaine smiled. “How clever you are, SmartyDukie sweetie, but this is important since we Steelfollowers have lost contact with both Sarah and Shyla Lyons.”

BabyDukie: “Then we will have questions first and lots of fun time later.”

Elaine had noted how, despite his name and general disposition, BabyDukie seemed to have a great deal of influence over the other eight; she doubted that this was coincidental.

Elaine: “How did there come to be the 13 of you?”

The SweetyDukies began to look upset when another woman, who looked very much like Elaine, came gracefully into the chamber and spoke in a soothing tone of voice. “My name is Annita and I might suggest that my sweet sister, Elaine, does not understand wonderful, special babies as much as I do.”

Elaine: “I specialise in artificial intelligence sometimes linked with cloned lifeforms but Annita, my quintuplet sister, works with wonderful ones like you. She is a psychologist and psychiatrist.”

The nine suddenly looked more relaxed but for reasons more subtle than obvious. Annita found herself a place to sit, on an open supplies container, and thus began her working with the SweetyDukies while Elaine staid but focused on running some computer diagnostics.

17.1[22]

The Ironstroopers carefully used their physical ammo, as it was running short, but thankfully were able to use local electricity supplies to keep up their laser capacity. The laser beams swept through the shadowlings, destroying them, even as they materialised from some unknown source.

The squad had found a big gallery, museum, library-study type combination chamber. Light security robots, remoterobots, and turrets assisted them in their fight. The WarDuchessSAI99 was only semiactive as self healing-repairing took place. As it was she had loaned Saraa’s people access to heavy security tech, in the form of five robots, along with some very useful prototypes, before she went into a healing sleep.

What had attacked her was a mystery even for WarDuchessSAI99 for it had done so suddenly, massively, as a psychic psyker force before retreating being heavily damaged by a lethal counter attack.

The newcomers were amazed by the great variety of items on display. They were in armoured display cases going from many smaller ones that shared displays to biggest devices that each had their own case. There were not just weapons, and warmachines, but things that showed other aspects of the needs of the military and war such as portable operating tables. There were robots, being mostly dumber remoterobots, cyborgs of brainbots with fake brains, muskets from the Colonial Wars, stretchers from the Trench Wars, cans of varieties of SPAM, a ‘small’ battletank with two cannons, a quadcycle with a heavy machinegun, mannequins in body armour, bolt-action rifles, food ration kits, the standard AKM16 autocarbine used around the world, trench shovels, war bonds, war medals, a hoverjeep and much else besides.

There were other displays and 3DTVs showing information, if wanted, such as audio visual recording of wars in action and commentaries from people likely all long dead.

An agreement had been made with WarDuchessSAI99 and it would be kept by the IronsOrder.

18.1[24]

The Ironsscouts fought off another, scattered, number of cyborghants that looked increasing patched up or in deed of repair. It was as if the ranting-raving WarChiefSAI61 was running short of vital resources such as his supply of mutaghants, where ever that was. Its last remoterobots, robots and turrets were no longer functional as threats.

Then there was no more attack taking place. The PaleOneMan appeared through a doorway, rather than materialising as he so often did, and stopped before speaking. “WarChiefSAI16 was a victim of a computer, and mind, hacking attack from a rogue Shadowlord named SesquailaiCal who then provided him with cyborghants. It is gone now being blasted back to the ShadowDomain where Shadowjudges will deal with it very harshly. Elaine, and Annita, Lyons are now caring for the SweetieDukies. Sarah’s Ironstroopers are at the OldPentagon War Data Preservation Centre as run by WarDuchessSAI99.”

Shyla spoke to the PaleOneMan. “So, PaleOneDad, you have been caring for the SweetieDukies.”

The PaleOneMan nodded. “I adopted them, yes, but they also have stolen genes in them from the PaleOneGenesis which means from me along with others of the PaleOneFolk. Those words are the most accurate translation that I can give of the situation but I feel it is fitting that I adopt them. While rogue Shadowlords are involved, in what is going on, so are other rogues including human ones.”

He went on speaking. “There are too many artefacts, and other secrets, hidden here in the OldPentagon Secret Levels that should not have even been on this world at all. Nor should some of them be so closely placed to certain others. Each aspect, of WarkDukeSAI92, has a certain number of vital keycodes, and other vital data, as linked to those secrets. The OPWDPC is central to the large number of secrets but is not the whole answer to what, where, they are. WarChiefSAI16 had important functions but I do not know what they were or even if they still have them; he will need much assistance in being healed-repaired.”

There was forensics work to do, some cleaning up to carry out and other duties including rest, food and other needs being met by some of the Pridescouts.

19.1[25]

The Ironsoperats continued to move through areas of underground car parks, basements full of utility networksystems and other facilities. There were defensive aggressive mutaghoulits there, peaceful compared to the savage radghoulers ever ready to attack in suicidal frenzy, that slipped away as the newcomers approached. Mutaroaches scuttled through the underground ways as did other mutacritters. Now and then they came upon skeletal remains of long dead humans, slowly rusting remoterobots or other left overs of actions of Warday or perhaps of another time.

They were soon to reach the OldPentagon at a level where there was not officially supposed to have existed. Shadowlings had ceased to attack the squad but Stella took nothing for granted when it came to threats, including ones of such mysterious ‘nature’.

They came to a monorail subway station that did not officially exist and there they rested while using some local resources taken from preserver containers and vending-machines, the later with the expenditure of Prewarday coins. It was ironic that the subway station had only coded identification signs but had commercial vending-machines such as military issue USCola ones.

20.1[26]

Somehow it was no surprise that Huey, Duey and Luey were really three mobile aspects of WarDukeSAI02. Now they squatted with open fronts showing three more humanoids all drinking fruit shakes. Their tasks had been, amongst others, to scavenge bits and pieces under the protection of real WarPawns that were special programmed eyebots of which only five were fully functional; others were soon being made functional and made active.

It had turned out that WarDukeSAI02’s primary self was well hidden away with some secrets supposedly too important to reveal to others.

DueyDukie: “Now you got a map thingy built up from bits of data provided by all of us.”

Elaine smiled. “DueyDukie sweetie, we have one cybernetic map, one extended map of the OPWDPC and a couple of other extended maps of the area.”

Stella’s Ironsoperats had managed to enter the actual OldPentagon, into a level that had never officially existed, and had found means to contact the new Pentadel (OldPentagon Citadel) that made up the official part of the OldPentagon. Sarah’s Ironstroopers, and Shayla's Ironsscouts, had done the same. Now all were in contact with those who were with the SweetyDukies being principally Elaine and Annita.

BabyDukie: “We are 13 with each having our own data but what other purposes do we have? I think we nine each regulate a section of the large area that is all run by WarDukiePrime himself being big and tough with no fear of anything. He is also very sneaky and you would never see that he is over there in the corner disguised as a big, wheeled robot with the sign on front stating ‘not really WarDukiePrime so look over there instead’.”

The robot suddenly many impressive sounds of raging battle be it cannons firing, bugles blowing, machineguns blasting away, explosions exploding and much else.

Elaine smiled at the robot. “WarDukiePrime sweetie, those audio effects are very impressive, and those blinking lights look just as awe-inspiring, but maybe they are not as effective, against threats, as actual weapons would be.”

The front of the robot opened to reveal the large baby like WarDukiePrime even as the robot hummed closer to Elaine and Annita. He sounded very hopeful. “Gosh, are you sure about that?”

Annita noted the almost empty transparent cup of fruit shake. “You need a fill up of fruit shake, WarDukiePrime sweetie! I do not mean to hurt your feelings but I suspect that Elaine, my sister, is correct in her estimations of your special effects as weapons.”

WarDukiePrime slumped a little. “Oh well, could use a refill of fruit shake. Got some data for you that will tie together that which you got from the other SweetyDukie aspects.”

20.2[27]

The data transferal began and was soon proving to be extremely useful. Not only did it ‘tie up’ already gained data but it added more. Maps were filled out, extended and new ones were formed. Saraa, and the Ironstroopers, were now clearly defined in their position in relation to both that of Elaine and Annita’s group and Shyla’s Ironsscouts.

WarDukiePrime slurped on his cleaned, refilled, cup of special nutritional fruit shake. He also had two foodbars ready to happily consume. All of the SweetyDukie Aspects had refilled cups, of milk shake, and foodbars.

Plans were soon being made in consultation with the IronsChapterDC HighElders.

21.1[28]

USCola vending-machine #3a did not have the normal 1 to 100 code arrangements to choose its different type USCola products. The numbers were mixed with some odd symbols added. While the preserved items were real enough, and came down chutes to the tray, when paid for, the results of putting in a certain code was that the whole vending-machine shifted to reveal an armoured door.

Getting past the door was fairly easy and then the Ironsoperats moved around a large chamber of more than one purpose being quartered into an office area, a secured storage area, a rest-relaxation and sleeping area along with what was a control area for the subway station. In the last was a row of viewscreens and a smaller one of datascreens.

There were some hitech gear in the storage quarter such as robots, power armour and guns but most of it was at most security directed and not military in nature. The chamber, and its contents, would be useful for the TechOrderhood to utilise in future.

It was realised that the chamber was a decoy prize, that it had been a bit too obvious in its disguise, but if so what was it supposed to be directing people away from and where was that other place?

22.1[29]

The terrible cacophony, of noise, blasted away at the mixed audience as all of them smiled, especially the ones wearing their power armour helmets. Saraa, who had returned from being with WarDuchessSAI99, had an oddly serene smile on her face, as did Elaine and Annita; they were practising a form of protective meditation, a way of keeping calm under difficult circumstances.

The SweetyDukies all stumbled to a halt with their ‘musical number’ that had consisted of a dozen of the ‘band’ making an assortment of horrible noises, except for SleepyDukie who was thankfully slumbering, in total discord with one another. The gleefulness, of the performance, was matched only by the seeming indifference of each singer-player to what the other band members were doing. Even FartyDukie's flatulence had not helped matters.

The SweetyDukies, who were awake, looked upon their audience with obvious expectation that they would be told that their musical concoction had been ‘wonderful’.

Annita smiled richly. “It was very good, and unique, but with some careful changes it could be even more so. We all volunteer to assist you in future.”

The WarDukies were all very happy and were soon drinking refreshed cups of fruit shake, even SleepyDukie who had woken up in time to slurp away at her own tasty beverage.

Most of the audience had slipped away, with amazing stealth and speed, causing the three women to frown. There sat, in power armour, two women and two men of the Ironsbards. They had exotic musical instruments with built in weapons and other devices. They were hard, tough, the Ironsbards and they were all smiling with their helmets removed.

Ironsbards Sandman rubbed a red scar on his left cheek. “It was an a truly stunningly wonderful performance that we Ironsbards would only be to happy to help make even more stunningly wonderful.”

Annita smiled in return. “Thank you and I will assist your efforts in my own fashion.”

It was, seemingly, a fine moment for all of them who were in that chamber but especially for Sarah and Elaine for these two were, apparently, not part of the music fixing project.

Then Annita spoke again. “Of course Sarah, and Elaine, will help as they are two of your mummies.”

Elaine, and Sarah, gave Annita tight smiles and then happily professed their willingness to help. The SweetyDukies all made sounds of happiness including a wonderful windy moment from FartyDukie. This included the newly renamed SweetyDukiePrime.

Now it really was, seemingly, a fine moment for all of them in the chamber.
