Borderlands 2 Community Patch - Mac

Hello,

I have gotten BLCMM installed correctly, Patch.txt is placed in the correct place (and readable by BLCMM), and the tilde is correctly binded. However, I cannot get full console commands. Whenever I type into the console the game reads it as a "say" command.

I have a hex editor installed and cannot find exactly what to edit on which files. I have located both the Engine.upk and WillowGame.upk (made copies) and per all the videos and hex values I've found I cannot "find" the values in the .upk files that need to be changed in order to have console commands enabled. I have all of the DLCs installed and even the Engine.upk file i was able to find online from like 2017 which just crashed the game.

Is there anyone out there that can help me fix this so I can have the community patch installed? I know there's only 1 step left to get this to work and for the life of me I cannot figure it out.

Thanks for reading

Figured it out. Sadly, the exec patch.txt has a ton of unrecognized items. So i'll figure that out next.

My solution:

For Mac & Linux

The BL2 UHD update has temporarily broken BLCMMs hex-editing. The old method of editing/replacing engine.upk doesn't work anymore, but Mac can still be patched (not sure about Linux)

On Mac, while on Finder, do the keyboard shortcut "CTRL/Command + Shift + G" and paste in ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Borderlands 2/Borderlands2.app/Contents/MacOS/. You should see a Unix executable named BL2. Open this file in your preferred hex-editing tool (ex: Hex Fiend). Search for 73 00 00 00 61 00 00 00 79 00 00 00 using the "Find" function, and replace the 73, 61, and 79 with 00, then save. BL2 should now be ready to execute mods.

As with Windows, BLCMM is the preferred method for doing this, but you can still use the old methods if you like. Details are available on apocalyptech's page, or via this reddit post.
