You can use the new 2FA in your browser, for example with the "GAuth Authenticator" Chrome addon.

Yes, 2FA is entirely optional albeit recommended, especially for mod authors.

2FA is an extra layer of security to protect your account. However, it is entirely optional, so you do not need to activate it to keep using your account.

We do recommend it though, especially for mod authors.

So people with well known or cool user names, lose their names and mods....

If said user is not very active anymore, same deal....

I thought the rules stated one account per user/IP, since the old account will still be active, will this not result in both accounts being banned?

Not really the answer I was hoping for. I was hoping that maybe email 2FA will be back, but for now, it looks like I'm going to be 2FA-less with really extremely long password. This blows. :/

The thing is those kind of authentication apps are WAY WAY more secure, since nothing is sent there, where as an email can be intercepted, and authy can be used on your PC too

There are auth apps you can get for a PC too, and uses that kind of authentication is WAY more secure than the email versions, since there is nothing to intercept in that step
