Hi All,

 

Apologies if there is a tutorial for this (if so, please point me at it), but I have been searching the internet, and faffing around in SSEEDIT and Creation Kit for a couple of days, and am totally out of my depth! Basically, what I'd like to do is make all the plant-based ingredients added in the wonderful More Colorful Critters mod plantable in Hearthfire planters.

 

I've been looking at Technicolour Alchemy, which uses some of the same models and DOES in include plantable plants and reading what I can online, and so far it seems that I need to be able to add the appropriate plants to both the fplanterplantable list and the fplanterplantedflora list. There is a very brief tutorial from 2015 on this forum about creating your own plantable leek, but it assumes a lot of knowledge and is no real help to me. Other posts seem to imply it is as easy as dragging and dropping from one list to the other...

 

Well, I'm at the stage where I can't even get More Colorful Critters and Hearthfire to open together in Creation Kit as Heathfire is not a parent of Critters, just Skyrim is, and in SSEEDIT I can add a new entry to the Technicolour Alchemy FormList, but when I copy and past the appropriate reference from the Critters record to the list, I get an error message. I'm sure it's really simple, as people obviously do it a lot in their mods, but I am not massively technical and would really appreciate some step-by step instructions for either programme (or a rap on the knuckles and directions to the appropriate existing post!!).

The BYOH planter system works with "FormLists", to make a non-plantable plantable you will need to add those plants to the "FormLists", but this will be consider a "Dirty Edit".

So to avoid this you'l' have to create your own FormLists with all the plants and add those FormLists to the script's properties of the "BYOHPlanterSoil" and to the "BYOHPlanterNPC" that you'll add to your Mod/house/doungeon, add "Localy" or create a new base object and add the script with your FormLists (edit base).


Activator > BYOHPlanterSoil

FormList > fPlanterPlantableItem


Actor/Npc > BYOHPlanterNPC

FormList > fPlanterPlantableItem

FormList > fPlanterPlantedFlora



- If you are going to use custom made plants from other mods then you will need to add those "Meshes/Models" to your own mod/esp (create a folder structure).

- If you are going to edit/change an existing mod (not yours), then you need to load in CK that mod an do those changes there.



* A step by step guide is something that i can't do, due to the lack of free time, plus it will require too much writing.


* i have never experimented with this, i just know how it works.
