Cr-75L replacer idea

Just an idea here -- can anyone make the cr-75L a replacer for the automatic combat rifle? Or even better, have the mesh model's parts accessable to the automatic combat rifle (and optionally sniper rifle receivers/parts utilizing the cr-75L's mesh parts.). The reason why I'm posting this under requests is because the new creation club weapon is most literally a combat rifle. Sounds, animations -- the only difference is that for some reason you can't turn it into a sniper rifle? Annnnnd of course -- the scopes aren't see-through compatible. I think the easiest way to fix this is by having various mesh parts of the regular combat rifle be replaced with the cr-75L's parts.

Heya Kanami. A replacer is actually pretty simple. But it'd have to be done as a plugin to the CR-74. Due to it being a paid-for dlc item. And only the folks with the CC content would be able to load it into their Active load order.

Bad news for second part of your idea tho. :( We can't redistribute assets from the CC content. All of these guns usually use about 4 different models that combine up. All those parts, have settings for X Y Z in a 3d model program. Due to diferent sizes and stuff, those XYZ coordinates for say... a pipe rifle, don't match up with those of an assault rifle. Matching the on-screen sighting dot/crosshairs to a set of sights from a different gun can also be quite a chore.

Essentally, to make the two different gun's models be compatible, and still be standalone (so as not to rob somebody of being able to use a gun they actually paid for, new versions of the parts from the CC gun would have to be made. We could "technically" change say, a file for a CC gun stock, to use the model for a sniper rifle stock. But the models don't line up right. It looks like you've got one part of the gun sitting too high, too low, or off to one side, or even a couple of inches behind the rest of the gun.

To match up right, the parts would have to be positioned correctly in a 3d editor. Which, we aren't allowed to do :(

Hmmmm. Tho.... we MIGHT be able to get away with modifying VANILLA parts, to match up with the CC gun. Again, as a mod that has the requirement of the CC gun. Hmmm.......

Thank you for the comment! I had thought there might be an issue with lining the weapon up -- I remember thinking to myself, maybe it would be easier to simply make new receivers for it? My biggest gripe with the weapon is that it has powerful scopes but only fully automatic receivers. Well, of course it also has the reflex sights and the glow sight.

But, idk. I wouldn't even know where to begin in pursuing this idea. As far as I know, its just a remodeled combat rifle..... but with an actually good quest.

Heya! No problem at all.

I personally don't/won't use CC content, so I'm not familiar with the weapon, other than the pics that I can see of it from the ingame CC browser. But that doesn't mean that I'm against the idea of modding it

Heh. Yeah. I've got a couple of submachinegun mods that are full auto only. I've been thinking that I need to get around to trying my hand at converting receivers.

Yeah, the whole 3d modeling thing is kinda outta my range. I know a bit here and there, but I have no practical experience. And like I said, I don't have the files from the DLC.

But shoot me a pm about converting the receivers. I'll leave it in there as a reminder, and IF/when I get around to doing my conversions, and making sure they work.... I'll send you info on how to make them in F4edit. I know you're tenacious, and can hang in there, even when the work is really rough, so doing a small mod like that, would kinda pale in comparison. If you're up for it that is.

And of course, if somebody doesn't beat you to it from your request

[Edit] Sights tho, ummmmm.....

I could make a gun so that it could use other sights. It's the same as changing out the receivers as far as new parts. So I could pass that along to you at the time as well. But..... knowing whether they'd line up right with the frame of the gun, I wouldn't be able to test. And as far as knowing how to realign the point of aim, with the point of impact.... (Making it so that it hits where it's aimed) I haven't had any luck in finding the settings for that to start experimenting with. I just dunno what the references are for it.
