Clothing Nude Followers/NPCs

As everyone is well aware when installing certain follower mods, sometimes you have no other option than to install a naked version...

 

Its driving me insane, so I am taking up the job of clothing the nude masses. Which leads me to my question:

 

How do I add permanent default outfits to them? I am familiar with using console commands in-game to add/remove items to inventory that they will wear but is there an easier way to do this outside of the console? Also, it seems like everyone has different advice when it comes to making NPCs keep their clothing equipped permanently. Note that my question only concerns naked NPCs, not NPCs already clothed. Thanks a ton in advance.

You can load the esp and edit their default clothing/gear, which is currently none.

 

- In the Creation Kit, load up the mod and any required masters.

- Use the search to look for the NPC and double-click to open the Actor window.

- Go to the Inventory tab.

 

Now, you can do one of two things here.

1 You can add items to their inventory, which they will automatically use (usually the case for weapons), or

2 you can set their default outfit to whatever gear and they will appear to be wearing it. Now, I don't know if this only confers the appearance of the gear, so they don't, for example, get whatever armor rating bonus, or that is setting their default gear with all bonuses.

 

To add items to the inventory, right-click in the space, hit "new," and a new object will appear. Change the object with the dropdown menu.

 

To set the default outfit, just use the dropdown menu.

If you know how to use SSEEdit, you can permanently change the equipped armor.

 

Open the mod and locate the armor setting and drag and drop the armor info you want to use.
