Choose when Normandy will be attacked

I'm looking for a mod that allows me to choose when to install the Reaper IFF and trigger the abduction of the Normandy crew. Or failing that A mod that doesn't allow it to trigger until after I complete all the recruitment and loyalty missions. Does such a mod exist? Can it exist?

You don't really need a mod - you just need to delay the IFF mission. You don't have to do it as soon as it's assigned.

-- Complete all other recruitment/loyalty missions (except Tali's if desired) and any other side missions you want to complete before the suicide mission.

-- Get the IFF

-- Talk to Legion

-- Do Tali's LM, take Legion (taking him also garners some remarks in ME3).

-- Talk to Legion again, he should give you his LM.

-- Do Legion's LM

-- End sequence starts

You only have time to do one mission after getting the IFF before it starts affecting how many people you rescue though...

I suspect you may be conflating fetching the IFF with the invasion/kidnapping.

Acquiring the IFF (and Legion) starts a countdown to the abduction. How many more missions you can do before it triggers depends somewhat on how many recruitment & LMs are in your journal at the time.

--Activate and talk to Legion immediately after returning from the IFF mission. IME, he does not give you the LM the first time you talk to him.

-- Then you can do Tali's LM with Legion in the squad.

-- When you return from Tali's LM, do not activate the galaxy map without first talking to Legion. At that time, he will give you his LM, and having it in your journal delays the abduction.

-- Do Legion's LM.

-- Next time you activate the galaxy map, the abduction scenario will start.

-- If you do any more missions after the abduction occurs, you won't be able to rescue everyone.

There's a lot of discussion about ME2 plot mechanics in this thread.

Yeah you're right, it's been a while since I played 2, and I've only ever took Legion with me to Talis LM once, then I aborted it because I lost someone during the suicide mission. Never knew about a workaround to make it work though, that's cool.

Are there any unique dialogues in ME3 if you'd already introduced the admirals to Legion when he comes aboard the Normandy after the Geth dreadnaught? Claudia Black already almost wets herself when she see's Legion for the first time... lol

Lol - yeah, Xen is pretty eager to get her mitts on Legion.

Yes, the Admirals do mention your having taken Legion on Tali's LM when he arrives in ME3. When you take him on Tali's LM, be sure to talk to all of the Admirals individually before and after you retake the Alarei, as I think there is some unique dialogue there as well.

Enjoy!

Yeah I always make sure I talk to or read everyone and everything, a lot, sometimes multiple times just to be certain!

(my 1-2-3 play-through runs take aaaaaages)
