Vortex - Custom Mod Source

Is there a way to add the ability to add a custom Mod Source for your mods? A link that would allow you to easily get to the mod downloaded so you can easily check if there are any updates?? I absolutely LOVE Vortex as a mod manager. I use it for Sims 4 and Stardew Valley but with the Sims 4, there aren't a lot of mods that are through Nexus so I would love to be able to link each download to it's given website.

This could be offered as a "add link here" and "add tag here". Tag being the shortened version of the link that Vortex would show you such as The Sims Resource, Mod The Sims, etc.

Hi KaiteDidAThing,

If you double click an installed mod the details pane should pop out from the right. At the bottom of that pane is a "Notes" section you can use to store the URL.

To make the link clickable you'd probably need someone to create an extension that does exactly what you describe.

Is it possible to create an extension that would add an option in the Source drop-down box called something like "Custom..."?

I would imagine this to show a pop-up screen where you can configure a new source. Like a template to insert URLs and wildcards for mod ID for retrieving current information for a given mod depending on the source site's configuration. Then when completed, the new source would show in the source drop-down list. And there could be an option if the source site is very irregular, that a new field could show up below the Source drop-down to manually insert a URL similar to the Author configuration. (Kudos for that one!)

To me something like this would be extremely valuable when sorting mods by the source column. As it currently is, the source column is somewhat useless as all I have is Nexus Mods and Non-Nexus Mods. Hard to find those few mods I got from a generic site when they are all mixed up with hundreds of Mods I get from another popular site. To help with this I've been writing the source name for mods in the mod title like GitHub, LL, Vector Plexus, etc... Not very efficient.

If this is possible, what resources could I look up to create such an extension?
