Putting things last in load order is a nightmare. Goddamnit!

I have BT interiors and it's bugging out rendering and open structures are not properly overwritten leaving the old structures and bariers to open interirs in place with BT interiors changes. No biggie it just aint playing well with something else somewhere so I thought I'll just add a rule that says BTI and it's dependents load after the last item in the load order. So I did this. Instead of moving BTI ad it's dependencies down in load order it moves the last item in the load order up to before BTI instead.

Why is this so bad and impossible to move? I either have to add a rule for every plugin to say it loads before BTI and it's two dependencies which is about 300 rules give or take. Is there at least a text file I can edit manually somewhere.

just put it in a group the loads later than default. problem solved.

That seems really hacky and unituative.

There's has to be a much simpler method of ensuring your load order is exactly how you want it.

If only someone could inovate in this area and find a way to make it so you could say, manually select and drag the plugin you want to the exact place in the load order you want without having to go through a multistep process and wait for the machine to make an educated guess on what load order you want.

This and other forums have been through the entire "MANUAL LOAD ORDER PLZ" debate.

It's not happening.

If you're going to insist on having your load order the way you want it like NMM, then you should switch to MO2 or NMM, so you can put everything in the incorrect order, instead of how LOOT (built in) does it, because all you're going to do is waste your time fighting AGAINST Vortex, instead of letting it manage your ESPs for you, and then you're going to blame Vortex for it.

Forget following "The Perfect Load Order" guides that somebody on Reddit posted or wherever, those are only a matter of Opinion anyway.

If you clicked on MANAGE Groups, you'd see how the groups are set up and their hierarchy

You simply add the mod in question to the Dynamic Patch group, hit Sort if you have autosort turned off, and the Plugin is at the bottom of your load order.

Are you talking about plugins (ESPs, ESMs) or meshes and textures?

Normally, plugin order has absolutely nothing to do with the textures you see in game,

Plugin order as specified by Loot should pretty much always be correct.

I have not moved a plugin around for Bethesda games - in years. Pretty much since Vortex came out.

Mod order (On the mods page - duh) is critical to get visual aspects correct. Loot does not help with that - but Vortex does.

You are CLEARLY not Understanding how Vortex works.

LET VORTEX SORT YOUR PLUGINS.

Then add the BT Plugin to the Dynamic Patches Group.

That's it.

I have 311 Plugins for Skyrim SE, and I have about EIGHT sorting rules.

IF you find yourself making "300 rules", then you really need to watch the tutorial videos, and read the knowledge base, because that is the wrongest way to go about it possible.

He said "Plugin" in his first post.

I have been making and using mods for over 15 years now I think I know a little about ordering mods and plugins. If I can set my own load order I'm not going to blame anyone but myself if something doesn't work or is "in the incorrect order". Fact is Vortex put the mods in the incorrect order, I have corrected that error made by vortex. Moving BTI to the end of the load order fixed the issues I stated above thank you for helping me solve that. I understand the ease of use for the layman being a thing they are aimng for but I don't understand why they wouldn't include a manual interface for those who want it and have experience tuning their mod installs manually. I may just look up the managers you mentioned and see if they are any more user friendly though.

I was not following a guide on "The Perfect Load Order", I would never do that honestly. I was simply trying to correct my load order so my damn game worked as intended using knowlege I have from years of installing mods manually. I'll admit I haven't played modded fallout in a while so vortex is a new thing to me entirely and I am used to either manual installs or older apparently outdated managers.

Clearly vortex can't be trusted to sort the plugins reliably on its own so no I won't let it sort my plugins for me. I am content to make adjustments myself if needed.

Clearly you and Vortex will never be friends for the simple reason that Vortex doesn't work in the way you want it to. NMM and MO2 are readily available, as has already been suggested, and will more readily accommodate your modding style.

I liked your modding CV would you like me to list mine? It would be just as irrelevant to your problem.

Just move the plugin to a group below default and your problem is solved.

Or don't.

Your call.

BTW 300 rules, really? If you've sat there and crafted 300 rules, then honestly mate, more fool you.
