I've been having an issue with body slide recently. Its not changing my in game body, specifically the player characters. Its affects the npcs and what not but it has zero effect on my player character.

This post (^) had the same problem but Ive read through it and I have tried all the fixes and other trubbleshooting suff. Nothing works.

I do NOT have a custom race installed, nor the Dragonfly bbp animations mod either.

I HAVE tried launching it directly from the directory [/Data/CalienteTools/BodySlide] Bodyslide x64.exe and Bodyslide.exe, neither work.
I have done a full purge and reinstall of my skyrim, manually deleted everything to do with skyrim so im working with a fresh copy but alas no success.

BodySlide game data path: [i:\skyrimSE\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\]

BodySlide output path: [i:\skyrimSE\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\]

Are you saving to the player or to an alternate directory? (The answer btw, on a bit more careful re-read of your post, is yes, since you're trying to force the output directory instead of using the default, which is an empty output path, ie, "send the output to the player's folder")

FWIW, in Bodyslide Settings, you can route the output of Build to a folder instead of the default (player) by adding a folder location to the Output Path under Advanced. If there's a path in the Output Path field, it will not route the output to your player.

For instance, I was working on a follower's body last weekend and set the route for a dummy folder from which I could grab the mesh (from a BHUNP preset) and apply it to her (while retaining her native texture***)

Well, I went to make a change to my CBBE (actually 3BBB but whatever... it's a CBBE variant) player character the next day and couldn't figure out why she wasn't changing.... Then it dawned on me.. Went back into settings and cleared the Output Path entry, and voila, changes were accepted once again.

***FWIW, in my example, had I pushed directly to the follower's folder, she also would have had her texture updated, which doesn't work out well if you're a CBBE player and are modifying a UNP character with a unique associated texture), since bodyslide doesn't seem to be able to use both UNP and CBBE textures, or at least I haven't found any way for Bodyslide to use both...

Not saying that this IS the solution, just that it is one possible way to accidentally end up not pushing changes in bodyslide to your player. FWIW...

To be clear, AFAIK, for normal output to the player's body, the Output Path under Advanced in Bodyslide Settings should be empty.

I appreciate the help,

I tried with the output directory blank but nothing, character is still a washboard and the npcs are still walking about with my preset. I did try your idea of buliding to a dummy folder and manually replacing the .nif files but no luck there either. I've redownloaded bodyslide, CBBE, XPSME ect. still no luck. At this point im starting to wonder if my computer might have a unique strand of digital AID's or something.

So far these are the fixes I have tried and dont work:

-- Blank/filled output directory
-- Dont have Dragonfly bbp installed
-- L
aunching it directly from the directory
-- M
anually building and replacing the .nif files
-- Full purge and reinstall of SSE and the related mods
-- [https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/7125451-bodyslide-not-changing-the-body-ingame/] < None of these fixes work.
-- Dont have a custom race installed.

If anyone can think of any other fixes please do tell.
PM me on discord to come check the forum, I have a terrible habbit of forgetting about these things.

If you're using the Unique Character mod, you might want to also use the tool that automatically adds the necessary files to the correct folder. Before generating a body, make sure you have just the one set of make-up/eyes/brows and such installed or you'll get a mish-mash.

And BodySlide should work when saving a preset, if BodySlide is installed correctly, which it seems as your changes affect all other NPCs. Frankly I don't quite understand what you're doing.

Normally, when you have a body preset you like, you choose that together with an Outfit/Body. I choose the Fetish Preset and then the CBBE Body Physics as Outfit. Next you want to make sure all the clothes and armors you installed are present and their boxes are ticked in the menu that shows when hitting the small arrow next to the looking glass in thr box top middle. Tick everything you want to adapt to your presets and hit Batch Build bottom left. Then it's just 'Build' and 'OK' in the next two menus and waiting for BodySlide to finish.

  • 3 months later...

I had this problem as well. If the sliders in bodyslide (Low weight and high weight) match, the body shows up fine. Only the high weight sliders effect the preview and you can use the arrows at the bottom to make both sets match.

My problem is the outfits don't change. When I look at the .nif files, they look right, but they don't display properly. This seems to be outfits that include a CBBE body. The .nifs look fine, but the outfit doesn't.
