Hi,

I'm having a bug with any fallout 4 preset, when i load the preset it looks great, i can play, load my saves, fast travel, the preset stays. But the thing is once i close the game and restart the presets load but they look like someone has smashed their face, here to illustrate how it looks :

Before : https://imgur.com/a/S1MQbWZ

After (when i restart the game) : https://imgur.com/a/TVVfVRg

So as i said, i tried 3 presets from 3 different artists and they all share the same bug, at this point i have no idea how to troubleshoot it.

(it's Piper and i removed every other preset when i tried)

Thanks for helping me.

Another member posted the exact same problem on the same day. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/8348503-that-stupid-pipers-face-problems-in-game-looksmenu/

From what one of our other members was saying, it's a common problem with Piper, and using json (looksmenu) presets on her.

I personally have never had any problems using .esp style presets with her. However, turning a looksmenu preset to a NPC preset is not a quick thing to do. And takes a bit of work.

Note that it is best to backup all your savegames to another folder before starting this. It's best to actually just move them all out for the time being.

You will also need FaceRipper

You will also need Fo4Edit.

First you need to go into the Fallout4.esp file and locate the file for CompanionPiper right click on the file, located in Non-Player Characters then choose to export it to a new file as an Override. Then save the file.

Second you have to have the preset, and apply it to your own character, and then save the game.

Third, use faceripper to extract the preset's settings from your save game, and have it inject it into your new piper preset .esp file.

Fourth, open the preset .esp file in fo4edit (also called Xedit) and compare it to the original companionpiper file, to make sure that it didn't write her in as a character preset.

If it did, you will need to drag and drop all of her original character settings. Not her new morph settings, but her old character settings. If it had to be changed, then save the file again.

Now activate the .esp file in your game, and everything should stick from now on.

[Edit] I just want to throw it out there, I know that most of us know this already, but just throwing it out there to keep anybody who doesn't know it, from getting banned. It's against the site rules for somebody to ask a modder to do something for money. It's also against the rules for a modder to offer to do something for money. https://help.nexusmods.com/article/77-donation-options-guidelines#Non_Solicitation_Rules

Well, good news !

I found how to solve this problem, first i downloaded this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/5798 ,it overwrites piper's face/body i guess, then i loaded this preset https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/42973?tab=images using SLM, now when i restart the game the preset stays !

Heyas Encabloza! Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! So you had an esp preset that alters piper, and then were trying to stack a looksmenu preset on top of it!

Wow, ok. Yeah, I can see how that might not work out too well, since the game is going to try to load the esp preset, when it launches.

Very educational. I'm really glad that you posted the problem that fixed it for you.

I'm also really glad you figured it out.

Sending you kudos for fixing it and posting the fix :)
