Edit: I managed to resolve the issue on my own by doing a clean install of the game. i couldn't exactly confirm the source but for me i believe it was the lods. i did use SSELODGen. now if you're a beginner like me, then do not generate tree lods unless your sure that you have the right billboards, otherwise your game will crash either in certain areas or just entirely.
