Fallout 4 crashes every time I use VATS

I have recently updated FO4 to the latest build with latest F4SE( along with supporting mods: looksmenu,transfersettlements, etc) and ever since the my game crashes everytime I try to go into VATS. the VATS hud shows up but, has no text or percentages and instantly crashes after. Anyone else having these issues?

Hiyas Iron! Ouch! That's a rough bug to have. :(

You will will need to post your load order so that we can take a look at what you're running so that we might try to figure out what's causing this.

The easiest way that I know, is to just copy and paste your plugins.txt file.

Which is located on your computer here: C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Fallout4 Now granted, your login name probly is Not "Admin" so that will be whatever you type in to log into the computer when you have to put in your password.

Then just open plugins.txt with notepad.exe and copy and paste it into a post here on the forums so that we can take a look.

Keep in mind tho, that this will NOT keep track of any f4se mods you have, unless they also run from an .esp/esm/esl file.

One thing that I notice, is that you have a lot of INactive plugins. I wanted to ask about that, before I went on. Are you switching mods on and off during your playthrough? Or are these mods that you just haven't gotten around to uninstalling?

 

The reason why I ask, is because turning mods off, or uninstalling them in a game that's already been started, can really hurt your game. Once a savegame has a record of that mod in it, and if it runs scripts, has the scripts from that mod in it, those don' t go away. Because it's dangerous to your game is why we have that warning about missing mods, that pops up.

 

I also just wanted to mention that on it's own, Brown Face Fix Female.esp does absolutely nothing for your game. It's literally just a copy of face preset #1. If you're having load order issues, that one can go.

 

I'm not seeing any mods that you have, that relate directly to VATS that would be causing a problem. But, I am seeing lot of race mods in your LO.

I'll profess that I am woefully ignorant of when it comes to the Nano mods or really, very many of the mods that change the player's race for this game. However, I do know that if not done or not added correctly, they can transfer over into the NPCs that use Human as their race. That might be a problem for your VATS.

 

My other flag that I see that might be related is HUD Framework. VATS is part of the HUD. So there might be some kind of an issue that is causing a glitch there. I'd check the mod page for that mod to see if there are any patches that are needed, or if there are any bug reports that might be related.

Sorry to double post, but I just came across some new info.

Another user just posted with the exact same problem.

It does look like HUDFramework has had some issues that are now resolved, that sound exactly like the problem that you're having.

Or it might be your HudMenu.swf file. Do a windows search of your data folder and see if there's more than one result. If so, run the autopatcher from there in the files section. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20309?tab=files
