Some NifSkope help

Hey. So I'd like some help understanding something.

So this is a mashup for a mod I'm working on. As far as I know, the only thing I need to keep in mind is to change the name (value) of the trishapes to they don't have the same name. And if I'm not blind, that's what I've done here in the picture. Doesn't stop CK from crashing when I'm trying to test my model in-game though. So I'm obviously missing something, which is why I'm asking for some help.

I have very little knowledge working with NifSkope. Obviously.

Ok, that took forever to troubleshoot but I found the major issue - it doesn't seem to like the shared properties of blackplane1 and blackplane2. Giving them their own BSLightingShaderProperty branch fixes it. They can share the same BSShaderTextureSet property though.

 

Same with coinpile1, 2 and 3. They can share the same BSShaderTextureSet and NiAlphaProperty though.

 

Another minor thing I see is SilverBowl and SilverGoblet are pointing to an incorrect texture - the 3rd texture needs to be the cubemap textures\cubemaps\ore_silver_e.dds.

I have updated my model to use a couple of SMIM models. It now looks like this.

I'm pretty sure I've set all the texture paths correctly for every item this time. So the problem seems to be the BsLightingShaderProperties used by the coin piles. As I have no idea what any of this is, could you explain what I have to do?

Oops, sorry, wasn't paying attention to the forums. Explaining how to fix it would have taken too long. I'll just fix this up for you and PM it back.

 

The way your files are turning out may stem from NifSkope having Auto-Sanitize on. Look under File > Auto-Sanitize before Save and make sure it's unchecked.
