Im trying to mod my gta 5 and it keeps saying it doesnt have permission to access "C:\Program Files\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\source" and when i click give permission it doesnt work it just pops up with the error again

Make sure you have UAC turned on in Windows

Also, it's best to have games NOT installed in the C:\Program Files, or C:\Program Files (x86) folders, because Windows is overly protective of those folders.

If Vortex fails to acquire write permission to a folder you can always do it yourself through windows explorer. Navigate to "C:\Program Files\Grand Theft Auto V\mods", right-click it -> properties -> security.

What you see there is windows user accounts and groups (there are several accounts and groups set up on your system even when you're the only one using your PC) and what permissions they have been given, the relevant part for you is the user account with your name and the group "Users" (even if you have the admin account, ignore the permissions of the Admin group).

You can click "Edit" on the security screen and there give your own user account write access to the directory (make sure "Inheritance" is enabled so that you also get access to all subdirectories).

I tried to do the same thing, and I also failed. It just keeps telling me the new file doesn't have permission to access "C:\Program Files\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\source." It's the first time when I tried to mod this freaking game. Everyone on youtube keeps saying that it's so easy to mod it. And here I am. Who could even mod the gta 5 for android. The worst part is that I'm doing everything exactly like in the youtube tutorials. However, it just doesn't work out for me! I can't understand what I'm doing wrong.
