My modded skyrim looks like s***

So basically I followed a guide to play skyrim (special edition) with mods using Mod Organizer 2. I cleaned my mods using SSE Edit and organized them using LOOT. Most of the mods I installed work such as oridinator, alternate start, Forgotten City, Etc. However, when I log into my world and look off into the distance everything looks like s#*!. I'm pretty sure regular skyrim without mods wouldnt look like this. I downloaded texture mods like Parallax, A Noble Skyrim, skyland but I doubt that any of them are activated. They simply don't show up in the in game mods list. The only ones that show up are Realistic Waters and Relighting Skyrim. I think the problem has something to do with SMIM because when I click it in the mod list in MO2, they all get highlighted red. What does this mean? I downloaded the SMIM patch for A Noble Skyrim but that didnt do anything. The other mods don't have these patches, I checked. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm new to this stuff so I hope its a very obvious fix. Ill send a screen shot of my list.

Hi Gorsky....
I have loaded currently 84 plugins and 112 mods all running together and all I did was alphabetically select them from their folder and let NEXUS MOD MANAGER install them all.

It runs.

Now initially it didnt as I did it bit by bit and worked on load-order and etc and studied conflicting mod v conflicting mod and on and on and on and on and ..............AAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!
I rechose most mods alternately.... banged them in and it all runs.

Ive been down the balancing, editing, load ordering path and as endless as that can be sometimes what works for Suzy doesnt have a hells chance with Tom.

For you I would say... purely from my own experience....
Install Nexus Mod manager which I found more stable and more controlling than the mod manager you're currently using. SSEMO. It didnt work well for me. Nexus always has.

SKYLAND and anything with PARRALAX in the title I have never ever been able to get on with.

Could be because I use a high spec animation rendering device or just because of the way my Nanobots work in Memory. Who knows.
I have run stable SKyrim games for years and then suddenly. WALLOP. It all dies and WHO knows why..... so..... dont despair.

One tactic I used three times was, after battling with "WHY DONT THEY ALL RUN TOGETHER" re: my mods selections and "AAAARGH!! WHY HAVE THEY ALL STOPPED WORKING JUST BECAUSE I ADDED xxxxxxx MOD?"
I rechose, thats RESELECTED, alternate mods and literally chose SIMILAR mods to what was because I just got so brain deadened trying to make them run together. This works sometimes. Most times.

Someonme may come along with the perfect digital solution for you or load order.....
You'll run it singing HOORAH and then go into whiterun and everything crashes and the game wont get past the start menu any longer.

ALSO...... restarting the computer and running the game from scratch after going into TASK MANAGER and deleting all the crap from printer ink web background programs and SKYPE (Which I have NEVER instaled but it sits in the backgorund snooping anyway) and printer help applications...... RID RAM of this uneccessary s**t and you'll find that sometimes the unstable game starts quickly and runs thereafter perfectly.

It happens like that here. Badly written memory modules dont help anyone.

Sorry if this doesnt come across as if from a professor of technoloigy but Ive just spent the last six days rebuilding my Skyrim from three "from scratch" reloads only to do the above and now it runs fine. 'cept for a missing hall of the dead in Solitude. But I can live with that for now.

You mention distance dying... LOD issues...... have you tried uninstalling everything and just installing mods that affect landscape, trees, rocks, mountains, rivers, water, waterfalls, clouds, and see at which point stage by stage yoiur LOD or distance dies?
Sometimes one single file has a crunching effect on quality.
Do you run Two monitors as I do here. One for the game / work output and one has memory management on it and shows me what CPU tax is taking place v. memory suck-up.
Do you run HDD's or SSD's?
What RAM do you have and how much Graphics ram?

I downloaded Vortex and its just way more simple for noobs like me. It still took me a while to get everything to work because I had problems with the game crashing due to a single mod called 'simply knock.' Had to download my mods all over again and figure it out. One thing for sure is my Skyland texture works even though it doesn't pop up in the in game mod list. I could tell cuz of the graphics now. Don't know about noble skyrim though but whatever. I'm just glad that this 'setting up process' is over and I can finally enjoy playing modded skyrim. Im sure NMM would've worked well for me too. I should've started with one of those two in the first place. Only reason I chose MO2 was because of people. They made it seem like the superior option. But I'd rather use something more simple than complicated. THANKS
