Consistent ILS around 30 Minute Mark

I have been troubleshooting this for weeks now with the 567 mods I have. Today I got to the very end of my list and had zero mods installed, besides Alternate Start and SkyUI, yet was still getting ILS. I ended up doing a complete fresh install of SSE, installed skse for 1.5.97 and re-enabled SkUI, RaceMenu and Alternate Start on MO2 since they are absolute essentials for me.

Here is how I am troubleshooting:

1)Start new game

2)choose to be a patron an the Haven Rock Inn at Soltheim

3)fast travel back and forth between Soltheim and Winterhold Docks

The game will always last around 30-40 minutes before hitting an ILS. I've tried using SSE Engine Fixes with the optional ILS download and that didn't work. I've also used USSEP to no avail. My suspision is that I have a memory leak because whenever I start a new game my total system ram usage will be around 10gb (this is with Chrome and all other background stuff on) and as I continue to fast travel back and forth it slowly creeps up past 16gb and the game will ILS when I hit around 16-16.5gb of total ram usage. I'm not running out of ram either I have 64gb. My theory is that the game is not offloading the cached data that is created everytime I fast travel, but I can't be sure since I don't know of any way to look at what exactly is being loaded and dumped everytime I fast travel. If this is the case the only culprits could be Alternate Start or the vanilla game, which I've never had problems with either in the past.

If anyone can post suggestions on what I should do I'd greatly appreciate it because this issue is driving me insane. If you need any more information just let me know, I'll gladly post it.

Have you used Alternate Start in Solstheim before?

How many journeys are you making between Solstheim and Skyrim in that time?

What other background stuff?

I ended up solving it. The current version of RaceMenu was causing the issue so I had to roll back to the last version made for 1.5.8 though it seems to work just fine with 1.5.97

How did you find out it was RaceMenu? Is there a debugging process?

Unfortunately the debugging process was manual done by hand. It's been a few months now so I cant remember exactly what I did but the general idea is this:

Deactivate half my mods

Do the exact same thing that caused the game to crash

If it crashes, deactivate half of the remaining mods

Repeat process until the game no longer crashes

Once the game stops crashing, enable 10 mods at a time until it crashes again.

Once it crashes again disable one of those 10 mods until problem goes away

Once you've narrowed done the problem to one mod, leave that one disabled and enable all other and repeat test to confirm result

It's a really long and painful task with a large mod list but it's the only good reliable way I know of that works.
