Load order correction!?

I set up my load order by following a feed on bethesda.net. I used it as my framework and then added the mods of my choosing, but my game keeps crashing back to home when entering walled cities otherwise it works well(3+ hours before first crash) it seems that Windhelm and Whiterun are the main sources of the problem upon trying to enter the gate my game crashes during loading screen. I even tried both gates for windhelm. It loaded once but crashed immediately after I took one step.

Please help! I need to know the proper load order. I have read multiple Forum postings on bethesda.net and Reddit. I've had this game now for about 3 weeks and haven't even been able to enter Whiterun! I own Skyrim legendary Edition on the Xbox 360. I love this game! I bought SE for the mods.

What a delightfully eccentric selection of mods. Are these the ones you liked in LE? I am wondering whether you actually checked that these now work in SE. You seem to have picked several that cover the same areas and are likely to conflict. You cannot rely on patches as these become erratic as soon as one of the constituents changes. You also have some that are notoriously difficult.

I may look at some of these again as I remember using them in LE many years ago and had forgotten them. But I doubt if they are any use now.

The good news is that you are missing many of the better mods that are now available.

Follow the advice given in these forums. Don't load a whole lot of mods at once if things aren't working. If you want to play a particular race don't make lots of others available at character generation.

Why do you want 'Open Civil War' before you have even settled into the game? Does that work with Immersive Patrols and border guards and all the other clutter you've added? Do you realise what all of those environment and overhaul mods are doing to your memory usage? You can't rely on patches. When one mod updates what happens to the other? Most of your mods should be clean and simple to take out boring bits like lockpicking and add some convenience and luxury like a nice home or two.

Run LOOT and check for compatibility issues. I wouldn't use so many mods without a clean install.

 

From my own experience you get CTDs mostly because of (1) mods compatibility issues (2) broken mods with renowned issues or badly optimized and (3) conflicts, NPCs overhaul for example. Most of my CTDs were caused by flora or NPCs mods, i've stopped using Trees Addon or SFO for that reason.

 

Easiest way to find the culprite is to deactivate half of your mods and see if you still have CTDs, rinse/repeat with remaining mods. or just check what makes sense/latest installed mods.

I have had another look at your list. I know JK's Skyrim and Skyland are supposed to work together, but why have both? I don't see either working with Immersive Patrols or the border mods. As for Open Civil War - are you trying to smash the game up?

You don't need the Solstheim mods until you intend to go there. You also can't do Forgotten City early on.

Skybirds and Birds of Skyrim and Better Skies? How do you think that would work?

Too many environment mods. I have given up Wet and Cold and Realistic Water, although they did not give me any trouble. One could be irritating at times and the other was hardly noticeable, so not worth a slot.

You could reduce your extra races to one you are using. How about making a half-orc dwarf? The dwarf is amusing but I soon tired of having to look up all the time. How about the new half-giant to compensate?
