Personally I like the look of the travel engines on the small and medium ships over the other two variations, but rarely use it because the combat engine is superior.

 

What I'm trying to accomplish is figuring out how to swap the meshes of the travel engine and the combat engine, so the combat engines visually look like the travel engines and visa/versa...
