Edit/Change Masterlist rules?

I'm using Vortex for Skyrim Special Edition and I'm trying to sort the load order of the following mods:

  • Enhanced Lights and FX (ELFX) - lighting mod
  • Cutting Room Floor (CRF) - adds new npcs, locations
  • Morrowloot Ultimate (MLU) - changes item stats, leveled lists, etc

From what I've read, ELFX should be loaded after MLU. When I add the custom rule: ELFX must load after MLU for some reason, CRF also moves. The issue is that CRF needs to be near the top and MLU need to be near the bottom. Moving CRF below MLU causes issues/conflicts with other mods.

Changing groups or adding custom rules doesn't work because of cyclic issues. Hovering over the arrow shows a tooltip that says: This is a masterlist rule.

It seems that there's some sort of rule that makes CRF load always below ELFX. This is what I'm trying to change. Is there anyway to do this manually?

I do use ELFX but not the other two. But my understanding is that it won't matter between those three mods. Functionally, I don't see any overlap and these are well known mods. If it were me, I would trust LOOT and see how it goes in-game before making any load order changes. Also, A BASH patch might be a good idea.

I already have a bashed patch, though just for leveled lists.

While there's no overlap between them, both MLU and ELFX makes changes to cells. MLU places items, ELFX changes the light sources. There are some conflicts where MLU essentially reverts the changes ELFX made.

Nothing major really, I was just confused because Cutting Room Floor was being affected when I was changing the rules for ELFX.

Got it. Not sure. But if a LOOT masterlist rule is incorrect, you can report it on their Discord and they should fix it.

As Zanderat says, you have to contact the people on discord who make the masterlist.

No amount of editing it yourself will help because the minute you start Vortex the masterlist gets downloaded again, overwriting any chages you made (Speaking from experience, as I tried the same thing)

I ran into a problem where one mod I had was supposed to go ABOVE another mod, but only if a third mod wasn't being used, the problem was, it wouldn't go above the second mod even if I wasn't using the third mod, so in about 20 minutes, they changed the masterlist to include a conditional statement allowing the mod I was using to be able to go above the second mod because I wasn't using the third mod.

Probably a pretty rare situation, but they changed it rather quickly.
