CTD Everywhere and anywhere.

Hey-- First time posting but I'm at my wits end and I really need help.

I'm having an issue where I'm crashing literally anywhere and everywhere. It doesnt matter where I am, or what I'm doing, the game will run for about 1-5 minutes, [on average its about 1 1/2 minutes] then it crashes to desktop.

[Note: this isnt an issue about crashing on loading a new area, or entering a place like riverwood or katla's farm, this happens literally everywhere and anywhere, even in the middle of skyrim with nothing around me]

I can't seem to narrow it down to anything specifically--

 

Skyrim [legendary edition] is downloaded to my D drive-

I have both loot and tes5edit [though i've only just recently started using it so i'm a complete novice]

and [unfortunately] I'm still using the old beta nexus mod manager- mostly because i still understand it, and it works [?]

Go into steam .check the games files integrity and see what data gets replaced.

 

Like this, you right click the games name on the left, choose properties, and select the appropriate tab

Ah- i suppose i should have made it clear, i just lastnight finished doing a completely fresh vanilla install of the game, then readded the mods to it.

Any file integrity issues would be due to cleaning the masters with tes5edit- since steam would see the missing files and re-download them

You have a lot of stuff loaded as well, there is ONLY 1 way to determine if the main game is bad, or if one of the mods made changes, too many changes to assets you installed, Overwritten and broke the mods or many mods.

1. Disable all mods, test
2. Enable 4 mods at a time and test some more
3. When you get to a point where the game starts t ocrash, replace that mod or mods last enabled.
4. you keep doing this using the last saved game file regardless of postings from the game.----> test some more.
5. Eventually you will find the offending code.

Ah- i suppose i should have made it clear, i just lastnight finished doing a completely fresh vanilla install of the game, then readded the mods to it.

Any file integrity issues would be due to cleaning the masters with tes5edit- since steam would see the missing files and re-download them

if you damage the main game files first ? I can't and won't help you, you're on your own.

 

Who told you to modify the main game files in the first place? go ask that person. They own that dumb stuff.

When I was redownloading the mods I wasnt able to pinpoint the mods causing the crashes-- which is why i've brought it to the forums...

I have a clean legit installed LE version of that game ,you send to me the very last saved game and I'll clean that for you.

1. People build their perspective games based on the complete game files.
2. Unless an author explicably tells you he or she built their mods on a cleared missing assets game set of files, you do not clean your master files ever.
3. Those mods are missing assets you removed. <-- that alone will cause crashing.
4. If the crashing was occurring before cleaning the master files then you have bad mods installed or installed and overwritten wrong data.

Calling me names because you did not get things your way is not a cool thing to do.

The facts are the facts, we do not own a crystal ball here, no one does.

Do as I suggested or leave it alone.

Uninstall all the mods, replace the damaged game files and test the game, you get more than an hour in, your good.

Arguing with me...is pointless.

 

The facts are this, we support legit game files period. Anything else is a crap shoot.
