There are plenty of great perks in this game, but there are also a few that suck.
What do you think is the second-worst perk?
(Because obviously number 1 belongs to VANS)

Just take one point of Aquagirl/boy instead (which requires one less point of endurance to boot) and you've totally eliminated the most significant source of rads you're going to get outside of situations where you wouldn't just be wearing a Radiation Suit or Power Armor anyway.
About VANs: You know they were seriously out of ideas when they decided to take the largely useless gimmick spell Clairvoyance straight out of Skyrim and turn it in to a perk. (Which makes it even less appealing.)
At least you can use the second rank to maximize your Perception if you really think that's necessary.
Idiot Savant is annoying but as long as you have a slot left in your groaning load-order you can get Lucky You which makes more damned sense for a luck-based influx of experience anyway. (Then promptly convert it to an ESL plugin via the Kit)
Close to Metal was not well thought out. Sensibly it should give a 15% improvement in reactions/stealth/damage against synths, because you "get" them. VANS is just stupid. Clairvoyance was just stupid, too. To me, the most useless perk has always been the loner perk since by the time you're interested in going without a companion its "bennies" are completely pointless.
