[1] Trenchzone Troubles [6.1][7]

Saraa got struck by ‘morning sickness’, as did the other special pregnant ones, but it was somehow made better perhaps by the ‘flash effect’. This led to an odd incident in which she met a pregnant woman, not seemingly made so by the ‘flash’, but suffering more heavily from her pregnancy. Saraa touched Karina and the other Forcemander who was soon sleeping for both she, and her unborn children, were ‘improved’ of mind-body-spirit.

Saraa sometimes sat besides Karina’s bed, who was much more advanced in her pregnancy, and read a book to the lesser ranking Forcemander. At other times they spoke of other matters and thus it was that Karina confessed a secret to Saraa that she had previously feared to disclose to others.

Karina spoke quietly. “The data came to me that was uncoded. I do not know where it came from or where it was intended to be sent. It was chilling in its implications so, out of selfish fear, I kept it to myself. We are not what we think we are but are superclones who grew up in a very advanced, sophisticated, form of virtureality called MBSEVR or Mind Body Spirit Virtureality but it is often called Trivirtureality. We did not come from deep underground, travelling upwards while in special capsules, but came out of them below WashingtonDC. The data did not say where we originated or how we got to be below WashingtonDC in the SSB (Seekar Staging Base).”

There were Seekars still in the SSB waiting for reinforcements, and new E&S to arrive as promised; so far none had done so.

Karina went on. “Each of us was infested with amazing spytech but those ‘touched by the flash’. The nanofestators also helped to control us. Now they are on our side, in the bodies of the freed. Anybody, who has experienced the flash can pass on its effects by touching others. Oh, yes, amongst we superclones are infiltrators who are observing us in case we start to become free in one way or another; they are also here to destroy any such change taking place, if they can, even if it means mass murder.”

Saraa sighed. “What are these infiltrators?”

Karina shrugged. “Not even they know and are only semiconscious of their being deadly Killatraters.”

Saraa shook her head, in wonder. “You were one of the Killatraters! Considering sublime information that has been coming to me, in ways I do not understand, I know you were one but now you are freed as a supercybclone (super cyborg clone).”

Karina frowned with worry. “If they catch even the merest hint at what is happening, the enslaved supercybclones will attempt to destroy all of us who have been ‘touched’.”

Saraa nodded. “The touch effect has been spreading since the flash incident and has reached the SeekaCitadel through an effected courier taking a dispatch there in a small monoflyer.”

Karina nodded right back. “Good but what of this new base?”

Saraa looked thoughtful. “The MFB is close to being totally changed over. It ‘feels’ good and I generally assume it is positive but time will tell what it means, what it’s about. Until then we have a war to fight and win.”

The Celestibaby was not ‘alone’, no not at all, for others of her kind were carefully present. They were much more mature and powerful than she, were more sophisticated and far less naive. They were also greatly protective, of her, and terribly dangerous. She called them by such names as mummy, daddy, big sister and so forth.

[1] Trenchzone Troubles [7.1][7]

Forcetroopers fell back, firing battlerifles and other weapons. Supershotguns struck oncoming, strange versions, of humans who were not quite right, who ‘stank’ of antinaturalness. The offensiveness of it went beyond natural decay, of unnaturalness, of anything but a force antagonistic to nature. The trench, that they were shambling along in an awkward attack; energies glimmered sickly from them but not strongly so.

They were beyond normal death, those bodies possessed with something that made them ‘undead’. Even in the growing darkness the sunlight appeared to be slowing down what were zombies of some kind possessed, drenched, by reanimating entities. The original souls were departed with death. They wore rotting remnants of jumpsuits, fatigues or other gear though some was more intact such as pieces of body-armour.  They were zerotech created zeroombies whether created intentionally or not.

The former human zeroombies did not use weapons but they were changing as they opened mouths to expose horribly glowing light of undeathlings driving each rotting-regenerating body. In doing so they also exposed rows of translucent spikes that could not be of any living organism.

Captain Shylo, twin sister to Captain Shyla, had not seen the zeroombies emerge from the ground below, smashing up through the supposedly hard earth, but she had heard them through her powerarma external microphones. The trench floor had tumbled down to reveal an old chamber there that had mostly like been long forgotten. The skeletal remains of long dead Capstate soldiers, most likely GIs (General Infantry) lay there still in their USNA powerarmasuits. They had not reanimated because they had not died while being attacking by the glimmerdeath.

Somebody took out a special focus weapons and soon ultravilasers were shooting pale, pencil thin, beams at the creatures that had far greater, damaging, effect on them than they would have had on natural organisms.

Question was where had the zombies come from? That was only one of a host of interrelated questions because where came along with why and what faction, if one could call it that, had driven them to do it?

Armaroaches came leaping onto the zombies, biting and clawing, killing them somehow so that they crumbled away with their long overdue, physical, deaths. The transhumans were also able to resist the undeathlings but the understanding, of that, had not come to them until that moment.

High voltage electricity did more harm to the glimmerdeath than it did to living entities so shockbidents (double pronged trident like devices) were thrust into zeroombies and they crumbled away though their gear, or remnants of such, did not.

Shylo gave out orders that all such items were to be carefully gathered up and placed in sealed, portable, storage for the forensics people to later study. They were all unsettled by what was happening, even as the last of the zeroombies were being destroyed, but not as much as they had expected they would be.

The man stepped seemingly out of nowhere, with a soft sparkling shimmer, wearing a curious multicoloured jumpsuit with a black leathery vest, utility-belt, gloves, vaguely cowboy style boots and a wide brimmed cowboy style hat. On his hips were two big, holstered, handguns and his back a big, black, backpack. It was his oddly albino features that caught her attention first along with his black banjo with dull silver strings.

He grinsmiled. “Hi, I am Banjosam of the Banjoband and you are one of those that I need to communicate with. I bring important news, gifts and some fine banjo playing.”

*****

The Banjobanders had been on that world decades before they were drawn to NewWashington. They came, concerned deeply, in a hurry for they new the true danger of what could go wrong for the Warworld and its inhabitants. The Celestigods were but one of those great, potential, troubles but they were seen to the primary ones at first. The whole Warworld situation was a deadly, unstable one, and ironically NewWashington was far from being one of the most extreme of the warzones.

[1] Trenchzone Troubles [8.1][8]

HulkMarshal Smashbang looked ruefully down at her stomach area; the pregnancy was not yet showing but she could psychic sense it anyway. The ‘touch effect’ had swept through the new Hulkbase before the HulkMarshal was even fully aware of it. Though a small minority had become pregnant females, the majority had not done so instead remaining as neuters; another medium minority had become non pregnant fertile females and a small minority had become fertile males.

Despite this the TrechWar had to be fought and won though a phoney war had fallen upon the GrandMall Trenchzone. There was also a growing sense of danger that did was not linked with the SeekaOrder or the new Maishanforce. Both sides had withdrawn further back from each other because of this and the approach of a big Warworld type rainstorm. The trenches would be flooded and could be drowning traps for either mutatants or the enemy.

Smashbang had instigated preparations for the coming rainstorm, with its rain plus thunder and lightening.

Drystorms were with no rain but with thunder and lightening. Radstorms were like rainstorms but with radioactive rain; the only good thing about radstorms was that they were slowly-steadily becoming less frequent and with less intense radiation. Thankfully acidstorms, of deadly acidrain, had become rare. There were other kinds of storms of which some were bizarre in nature. Windstorms were other type storms with very powerful winds.

The ‘flash’ had increased intelligence in sharpness and flexibility. There had always been ‘smarttants’ being all mantants and a very small minority of hulktants. The hulktants were the smallest, most common, kind of massatants of which none had come to fight in the trench war; their bigger size made them vulnerable in such an environment so Smashbang had not brought them into the Trenchzone. There were other kinds of mutageltants too big for safely fighting in the same zone.

The trenches were too small for 2x bigger bulktants, 3x bigger supertants and 4x bigger megatants. Bigger, rarer, ones had never come from SBC1232.

There were a few horsetants more often used as packhorses than as saddlehorses and fewer, even bigger, elephant like elephantats. Even the smallest, of the horsetants, were too large for easy travel through the trenches.

The lozytants, fighting in the trenches, were of the smallest, most common kind, while the bigger ones staid back; that is the twice bigger midzytants and thrice bigger hizytants of the three same types.

Smashbang had to take all of this into account as he tried to find a way to get those bigger mutageltants to the new Hulkbase, along with smaller ones handling them. There were plenty of trenches in the way of them and the base so the HulkMarshal began to look for ways going under them. Firmer stories, and less reliable whispers, spoke of there being a large number of layers below the GrandMall along with multiple sites of varied types. The majority, of the UnderMall, were of basic risk level, a large minority was great risk, and a small minority was of terrible risk according to available information; too bad that info was not consistent and sometimes contradictory.

With a soft sparkling shimmer a 1mx1mx1m coppery cube materialised on his very big desk and some items, that had been on it, were instantly moved to another part of the same piece of furniture. If it had not been for the ‘flash’, and other strange happenings experienced in his life, he would have been very surprised. As it was Smashbang sighed and shook his head.

Then he reached out, to the detail lacking object, and touched it. A soft sparkling shimmer shot through the whole base but also went beyond it.

*****

Most Warworlders were lotech-midtech folk struggling to survive, being of different species, subspecies, but most being human or human related. The way they viewed, such as the Seekaclones and the hulktants, came from that basis of common sense survivalism but also from both more positive or negative influences. What ever the approach, many factions desired the higher tech, and other supposed advantages of those more elite, factions. While they could hardly be blamed for such attitudes most often they were based on non existent fantasies for those ‘elites’ were often struggling against other elite factions.

[1] Trenchzone Troubles [9.1][9]

Alarms began to sound but it was not due to any hostile action by supercyboclones but another kind of action by entities of a surprise nature. The big armaants came racing through a downed, secondary, armoured door having with them ‘gifts’ to give to the MaishanQuintruplets but mainly to Saraa. The gifts were a crazy mixture because the givers had no real idea of what might be desired by the recipients.

Dead mutiroaches, mutirats, mutimolerats, and other types of muticritters were heaped into a big tray. Bits of junk, and semijunk, went into another one. A minority, of useful items, went into a third. In the end there was a fourth tray taking more exotic items. Dead creatures, and junk stuff, mad up the majority while useful items were a small minority and the exotic ones were a much smaller minority.

The gifts were soon proving to be of value to the base including the armaants who were soon taking up residence in part of it. The dead muticritters were processed to become armaant food. The junk, and semijunk, were also recycled. The useful items were used or put away to be used later. The exotic items were carefully assessed.

Saraa found herself surrounded by armacritters who adored her who were willing to follow her wishes but she did not know why. In response the Forcemander found herself feeling responsible for the changed mutiradtants.

The armaants were mainly lofemale workers, hunters, scouts and others of common numbers but there was one subqueen, two thinkers and other hifemale castes. There were two sizes of flying, male, drones being both lomales and himales.

There were still the armamolerats and the armaroaches like two big armaworms that used to be mutiworms. They were in a big tray of earth, being very comfortable as they made sure none of the armamolerats tried to use it as a ‘litter tray’.

Sarah was picking up information from them in the form of empathic impressions that were sensory recordings of what they had observed but also of past feelings. It had started out focusing on normal, every day, experiences.

Then matters changed with the appearance of six limbed humanoids, about one metre tall when walking on four rear ones and being roughly two metres tall when walking on two legs; for they had one pair of legs, of pair of armlegs and one pair of arms. The armlegs could work as extra legs, when necessary, or could be used as clumsy gripping arms, with pawhands, stronger than the arms that had more versatile hands.

It was not the physical form, or jagged weapons and spike armour, they carried that was most intimidating but a psychic emanation that reflected a malignant evil nature in each of them; the ones, in charge, seemed to be more so than the others. Weapons were spikeguns, swordguns, swords, spikeclubs, shieldguns and a few slippipeguns being smaller than those used by hulktants. Each had three eyes, two being more normal but the closed ones at center, of each forehead, being perfectly round. Their offwhite skin was shown to be lightly armoured but it did not show in many places thanks to all of the armour including open faced helmets.

Again, and again, they were shown attacking any lifeforms they came across and feeding on dead, or dying ones, with rows of sharp fangs. They did not always get their way as they were badly wounded, or even killed, by mutacreatures or muticreatures tough enough to do so. A giant mutiworm drew a thrashing one very quickly underground but the others did not even bother trying to save it.

*****

They came forth being the malignancy possessed-driven of many types of entities. Local belligerent ones reacted aggressively against them but so did normally not so aggressive entities. Thus their coming, along with that of other abominations, made matters worse in the Trenchzone and other parts of NewWashington close to it; that is they made matters worse in more than one way.

[1] Trenchzone Troubles [9.2][10]

Was it selfishness or was there some other factor at play?

Then amongst them floated scaled armour creatures of tentacled, upside down, teardrop shapes. Even, if possible, crueler than the humanoids, they struck out at them with their three whiptentacles that each had. Each, from top to bottom, had one thick tentacle going up from the very top, three eyetentacles, three whiptentacles, three handtentacles and three, short legtentacles going down from the end of the thick, tapering, tail. The handtentacles held exotic devices, in their three fingertentacle hands, that Saraa found to be somehow familiar; she also felt unhappy at the idea that she did so and as the ‘troubling’ name came to her of ‘tripodici’.

The creatures were heading, slowly-steadily, from underground and up towards the GrandMall Trenchzone but only after they reached, and went through, the UnderMall. The information came to her in an unclear fashion but Saraa figured that her mind had picked up higher capacities such as stronger inductive-deductive processes.

More information flowed to her even as, with a sparkling shimmer, a coppery metallic cube appeared next to her being 1mx1mx1m in dimensions. The armacritters were not fearful, of it or its sudden appearance, but very curious so Saraa waited until they had investigated to their satisfaction. Then she touched it and it vanished again with a sparkling shimmer, energies radiating out from it, going through the base and beyond.

A report came to Saraa almost at once confirming that a large number of, mostly small, important changes had happened to the base. The layout, of the MFB, was improved in being easier to use and more efficient to utilise. There were more utilities, power ramps, elevators, computer terminals, turrets, security cameras, remoterobots, robots, spare E&S along with much else of the of the same. SSSVR (Super Sensory Stimulation Virtual Reality) chambers were available now along with holoprojectors, cable-teleporters, mattercators of different types, mind suites, 123Dprinters, and a few others of which three were very exotic.

HulkMarshal Smashbang made contact with her as both of the bases were now linked heavily in both communications and transportation terms. With the amazing, often subtle, changes that had taken place, it seemed somehow natural to form an alliance. Together they started working on getting his isolated forces to his base through newly fixed, reinforced and fortified tunnels. The ‘sense’ was one of urgency as that of increasing danger was becoming more intense.

*****

In NewWashington there had fallen a balance of forces that made life, for all, at least somewhat easier, but now that was being jeopardised to the detriment of far too many. Yet there came also more neutral factions to trade and more positive ones to assist along with mixed neutral-positive ones to do both. More surprising, in a way, were normally aggressive factions willing, temporarily, to be neutral-positive to save their own futures. The Child Celestigoddess was not happy about what was happening but was neither sure of what to do to fix it or even if she could do so.

[1] Trenchzone Troubles [10.1][11]

HulkMajor Kickcut, trusted secondary commander to Smashbang, directed his ‘heavy duty’ forces in defence as other factional mutageltants attacked them. Smashbang represented one of three major mutageltant factions in SBC1232 but also the biggest and most powerful. The other two were each half as big and even less powerful. The lesser factions and factionless were the greatest number of all.

Smashbang’s mentor, HulkLord Krashmash, had been successfully gathering up small factions, and the factionless, to their HulkStrong Faction. This had caused strong resentment from the brutal HulkSmash Faction that Smashbang had once served before he became disgusted with how they treated their mutageltants. The HulkSharp Faction tended to be isolationist and self dependent but it had indicated that, if push came to shove, it would always ally itself with the HulkStrong Faction and never the HulkSmash Faction.

His hulktants, zytants and other fighting creatures hurled back the treacherous HulkSmashers who had secretly sent an army, breaking the last three way treaty as mediated by a smaller faction of smarttants. The enemy had made a mistake in sending a mixed army against one of all bigger, stronger, mutageltants in an area that better suited the defenders. Also the defenders had dug in and had fortified their positions.

The fighting was savage as the agrored transdrug was sending the addicted-malformed enemy berserker. Over using transdrugs, as developed in the decades running up to Doomsday, was to lead to fatal dependency and permanent changes to the user’s mind-body-spirit. Agrored hulktants came screaming at the defenders being faster, stronger, harder to damage but clumsier and over confident. The transdrug changes also brought with them some odd weaknesses.

Drugdarts, shot at the HulkSmashers, hit them hard enough at times to inject them with the cleanswhite antitransdrug that at once sent the victims into a massive, nervous system, shock. They hit the ground fast, and hard, but did not always die.

With mutageltant corpses, wounded, and nerve shocked ones, piling up before the fortified defences, the attack abruptly ceased and survivors fled away in an erratic, unplanned, fashion. HulkMajor Kickcut watched them go and then had his surprised people start to try to save who they could. The ‘flash’ had hit that group also and soon they were not only saving their own kind, they were converting them to their side.

Hulktants, zytants, and others of the HulkSmash Faction had been increasingly abused, exploited, and even murdered by their own insane, isolated, incompetent leadership. So much so that a multitude of former faction members had fled to the other two main factions, to smaller factions, or to being factionless.

Kickcut, now both smarter and more compassionate than he had been before the ‘flash’, checked on his people and paused to help bandage up a big horsetant. Before he left he gave it a rub and snack.

Then he was brought a most curious mantant corpse that was not transdrugged or even of the HulkSmash Faction. Kickcut studied the body, found he was picking up psychic impressions in a way previously impossible for him. The one wore no form of identification but was from the isolationist HulkSharp Faction. The HulkStrong Leadership had wondered where the HulkSmashers were getting their very expensive, rare, high quality transdrugs from. The HulkSharpers had been under some suspicion but far from the ones with the highest priority.

As HulkMajor he sent off urgent messages, in four different ways, to the new Hulkbase. He failed to detect, in any way, the figure of Banjosal who was a female version of Banjosam being also of the Banjoband.

*****

Negative factions, operating across the Warworld, were often so deceptive as to be very self deceptive; one always went with the other. These same factions, some being massive warfactions, constantly battled other, such factions doing much more than they fought more positive ones. But those negative factions had a shock coming as they were confronted by more exotically extreme forces coming from ‘elsewhere’.

[1] Trenchzone Troubles [11.1][12]

In the sky, high above the Trenchzone, lights briefly sparkled in the semidarkness but the possibilities, of what it could be, were wide; an autorobotic Orbisnet dronecraft, various ET factions spacecraft, meteorites destroyed by the quasienergy worldbubble and so much more.

Part of a trench wall shimmered softly and then vanished away to expose a shallow sloping, fortified tunnel, plunging deeper into the ground beneath the Trenchzone. Then the open doorway was covered with an armoured hatch.

A drainage network began to be reformed, extending, through out the Trenchzone even as the first rains, of the Rainstorm, began to fall being heavy but not as heavy as they would become. In the same way lightening, and thunder, began to appear. Lightening rods rose up in seeming response to the appearance of that natural phenomena.

In another trench were different kinds of changes as a large part of its floor sank downwards with earthen ramps, at either end, going back up to standard level. Two hatched tunnel entrances appeared.

Yet another trench widened and sank down but not as much as had the trench with the ramps.

Often older chambers were left to greater exposure of formerly hidden underground spaces though often these were transformed.

These alterations were first focused in areas where neither humans, or mutageltants, were active so neither the Hulkbase or the MFB people were patrolling. Only a few small entities viewed the changes often meaning mutiradtants including numerous mutiroaches.

In more than one, exposed, location there became active threats natural, unnatural and even antinatural, but there was also that which was neutral or even friendly.

*****

The GreatAwakening, as instigated by the flashes, spread through NewWashington as it effected most positively, fewer neutrally, and very fewer negatively depending on how they responded to it. The responses of a large number, of groups, was neutral-positive. The process was not always simple or straight forward.

The lesser title, of 'Trench Warfare', has been replaced with the more applicable, and accurate, one of 'Trenchzone Troubles'.

[1] Trenchzone Troubles [12.1][13]

Banjosas made her way through the deep underground areas below even the UnderMall levels, complexes, tunnels and other features. She looked identical to Banjosal except that she gave an ‘impression’ that she was definitely herself.

A large group of enslaved tripodici were commanding an equally mastered, bug larger, number of hexinoids.

A large group of the six limbed creatures had been captured by a hybrid semigreylien raid on the jungle world of Venus. They had been traded to tripodici who had not been then mindslaved by anybody and who had fairly treated the freeminded hexinoids; they had even been intending to take them home to Venus.

A small, tripodici, cometship had set out from Mars to travel to Venus only to be ambushed by a mastership of ‘pure’ higreyliens of terrible power and criminal insanity. The cometship fought back and escaped with most of its people. After that the trail, of those captured, became vague even to the Banjoband. Somehow the tripodici, and hexinoids, were mindslaved and ended up being deep underground in the NewEarth of the Warworld.

Now they were seeking the very thing that Smashbag’s people were being contracted to find and the transhuman superclones had been tricked into go looking for. None of them truly knew what they were hunting for which was a strange situation leading to many unanswered questions.

Down, below, the UnderMall was a mass of largely dingy, arid, networks of tunnels, chambers, shafts and other spaces including cave systems. Some were very ancient being of long forgotten, or barely remembered, peoples that were not always human though a few were hybrid humans. It was whispered that some still existed and there had been digital-tabloids that claimed that they did so.

The truth was if one went deep enough there was a zone that was shared by more than one alternate version of the Earth. Yet it was neither easy to enter or to depart from. It was not a realm easy to describe or to define but it was relevant to what was happening at that moment. It was the Twizonetwi and it was both of multiple dimensions and dimensionless.

The fleshpuppets, of tripodici and hexinoids, had come from there and were still moving up through the DeepLabyrinth of 3D nature. Malignance, and agony, drove them to violence but some were more affected than others, were more dangerous. There were inconsistencies with the story of the enslaved tripodici and hexinoids for there had only been about 34 tripodici and 289 hexinoids abducted from the cometship. Over 100 tripodici and 1,000 hexinoids were estimated, by the Banjoband, to be on the move and that number could not be explained by just that one story.

Then there were the slaverglolings inside them being neolifeforms of quasienergy being a kind of Dimensionite Subspecies serving a dark Species known as the Slavergloites. Them being in a mortal dimensional realm was not good news at all.

Through ancient, stale air filled, tunnels he went past a very slowly-steadily crumbling hard stone edifice of a small alcove tunnel devoted to the Oldtheon Gods being the Trigoddess of the Tritheon that also included the Trigod and Trigoddia. It had been a relatively short lived attempt, by the Tritheon, to escape from the Twizonetwi where they had been imprisoned. They had been trying to gather fanatical followers, to themselves, that would allow themselves to have their ‘spirits’ to be fed upon in exchange for dubious gifts.

*****

There was the EverOneEver, beyond the EternalSeeker of the Banjobanders, as it was currently expressing itself, beyond the PaleOneFamily of the PaleOneFolk but not the Celestigods. The Celestigoddess, baby, called ‘him’ daddy though in truth she had more than one of those and he was not her Celestigod one. Generally speaking, she liked him much more than her Celestideity 'father’ who was quite aloof to her.

[1] Trenchzone Troubles [12.2][14]

Banjosas, being one of three Secondary Banjobanders, flickered with amazing speed as a glistening black spear shot through the air at her. The thing, of temporarily solidified darkness, moved with great speed but easily missed her and then it no longer existed. Banjosas stood in another place but knew it had been a warning of a solid illusion for she psysensed that it had been known she would not be harmed.

Then she heard the strange, deep, disturbing drumming-throbbing sound but did so through her boots as it was travelling through the ground. That she sensed that it was flowing upwards, from very very deep down, was not a pleasing thought. It was coming from the Twizonetwi but that was supposed to be impossible.

The other Secondary Banjobanders were Banjosam, now in the MFB, and Banjosal now on her way to the Hulkbase as she led the big sized mutageltants to their great commander, HulkMarshal Smashbang.

The Primary Banjobander, Banjosaz, was in the Banjoshanjo of a transport and mobile base of operations.

There were nine Foundational Banjobanders able to be summoned, from there, at any time and even a potential 27 Basic Banjobanders that could be materialised from special storage; followers could be called upon and minions could be created. She hoped that it would not come to that as the Banjoband worked best through covert, subtle, means utilising as few as agents as possible.

She heard the odd whistling sound, looked around-down to see a chubby muscular babylike figure striding fast to keep up with her with his small legs. The albino skinned figure wore very black coveralls that extended down to become boots and along the arms to become gloves.

Then he looked up at her with whirling, very round, eyes of multiple dull colours. He spoke quietly but she easily heard him. “Me threw spear knowing you would then clearly hear the ground sound for you would be more alert.”

She did not bother to point out that she would have heard it anyway for she was always on full alert except when deep resting in the Banjoshanjo. Sensing it would be okay, by him, she picked him up and he was soon eating a hydrating, nutritional, tasty, concentrated foodstick. It took five more foodsticks, a large drink of water, and some nutritional juice to sate his small body.

Somehow it was no surprise that the Whitepalebaby had been looking for her and that he was excellent at carrying out such tasks for the unnamed one that he served.

The Transmigration had begun, was getting slowly-steadily bigger, as refugees came from the colder north, the hotter south, the oceanic east and the inland west. They were often hardened survivalists, in nature, even if they did not use that term but they could not handle the forces driving them out of their old homelands. Not all joined the increasing flood but dug in as a rearguard to those leaving or just because they did not want to leave; often factions would split into halves in hope of long term survival by different means.
