Mod instal/Mod Manager help

So i am not a noob necessarily when it comes to using mods from nexus, however i am having a hel of time getting most to work with this game. The only ones i have working now were straight drop of Pak files to Pak folder.

I have created a file path as follows like some have said and still no luck.

Program Files/Epic Games/MW5Mercs/MW5Mercs/ Mods then put the straight extracted files into that folder. Fire up game and nothing shows or takes effect. I have heard modders saying the game main menu should have a Mods option. Searched all options and never shows up.

So a couple questions:

1 am i doing this wrong and that is why not working?

2 do i need this Mod Manager i hear about on the forums? if so can someone give me some safe links to find.

I am trying firing up the editor and see if a junk created mod in it will setup what i need.

Please help as a bit frustrated at the moment.

I read in a forum somewhere that some PAK mods remove the MOD option from the main menu. You may want to remove all Mods and see if it shows up. I would assume any mod that touches the main menu may break the MOD feature if it wasn't updated to include it.

Not sure it will help, or if it is even the problem, but something to try.

Early this morning I found a reddit post. You may be right. I have the career start pak installed. Supposedly remove that then restart game and should recognize and set paths right. Then can re add that mod and may work. Havenât tried yet but will be.

Appreciate the possibility and assistance.

Mods come in 2 flavors when it comes to the install method.

V1 - A single .pak file. This is the old way (and the simple way for the developer). The .pak file simply gets dropped into the Program Files/Epic Games/MW5Mercs/MW5Mercs/content/Paks folder. Your done installing and you just have to fire up your game and rock and roll. The down side to this method is that the only way to temporarily suspend/delete the mod is to remove the .pak file from the directory. And updating to a new version means going into the Paks directory and deleting the old file and replacing it with the new version. Simple enough but kind of messy and time consuming.

V2 - Packaged mod. When you unzip this file you end up with a folder that has a .jsom file and sub folders. The whole bundle gets dropped into the Program Files/Epic Games/MW5Mercs/MW5Mercs/Mods folder. Now you have a couple of extra steps and options to activate and use this mod. In the in game main menu click on the mods menu selection and you will see all of the mods that you have put in the mods folder with a check box next to them. Click the box next to the mod you want to activate/use and restart the game. Your mod is now active and running. Enjoy. Pausing the mod is a matter of going back to the mods menu and unchecking it and restarting the game. Updating this version is the same drag level as V1 with the exception that your now deleting and replacing a whole folder instead of a single file.

So, if you put a .pak file in the mods folder nothing will happen.

Hope that helps.
