One thing to keep in mind (and if it was mentioned and I missed seeing it, I apologize) is that the uGrids setting is baked into your save.  Whatever it is when you start the game is what it will be through the rest of your game. Changing it during a play through won't make a difference (according to multiple guides)

I would not recommend using Fo4Fi because of its tendency to cause missing buildings in several areas of the game, among other flaws. The mod author has also seemed to have dropped it completely as of the last update. I would still recommend new users to use Boston FPS fix to avoid these problems.

this seems to me a more helpful and cordial comment (Deadblot2); I appreciate this specification, it is information that helps me decide which mod of this type to use.

So your like most. Wanting to try everything there is. Ive gotten past that point and now how a list of good mods, and a list of always installed mods (UF4P, Buffout 4, BCR, Better Junk Fences (Though there is another mod now), Fallui Series, Survival Configuration Menu, Unlimited Survival Menu [These two replace Survival Options, which should never be used], Thuggyverse Quest mods, CBBE).

I think some of the performance issue dont occur until about 100 hours with Horizon. Thats when you start having more than 100,000 items in your workbench and that can start to cause lag when crafting. Im not aware of any way to fix that, but maybe the Buffout 4 team or the UF4P team can fix it. Its most likely due to resources being parsed everytime the UI updates, which could be changed to something storing info and just waiting for an actual change to rewrite the cache.

Spoiler

Neither FAR nor any LOD mods help with performance. If anything they usually add to the games load. For me FAR has no noticeable impact but my PC is above the recommended requirements. I think FAR only improves the actual LOD objects/textures so it may be ok to add it. But it does not improve performance.

Ive been using Luxor's LOD as its more updated and seems to lack some of the oddness that Neura can have with mods that alter the vanilla worldspaces.

Went from 20-25 fps in the Boston areas to about 45-50. Thanks for this guide!

EDIT: After taking 10 hours to download PhyOP with my garbo internet and doing a bit more tweaking. Up to almost a solid 60 fps no matter where I'm at! Just slight hiccups where I'll dip to around 52. This game has never looked better. Again, Thanks a ton for this wonderful guide!

Hey umm, not sure what happened but I used this guide and now lol Fallout 4 CTD on start up..
You suggested to combine it with another guide. But that guide is from 2019, are you sure that other guide is still viable?

Does the mod place everywhere break precombined? Is it safe? I can't figure it out.

Thanks for the tips, really helps when you first start and don't know which performance mods to pick
initially was around 30 fps to 45 fps
tweaked using your guide got around 45 to 60 fps
I'm tweaking things bit by bit and im around 50-60 fps now (have a 940mx GDDR5 running at 720p).
