Possibility of "Ward break" cooldown being extended.

So we've all felt the pain of being a pure mage character in Skyrim, espacially on higher difficulties.

NPC mages with their enourmous regen and mana pool can keep wards up effectively forever! And even if you do break them the "stun" period doesn't last long to get any damage in, meaning they just throw up another ward.

 

I don't mind the above terribly much, except for that last part. If I break an opponent's ward I want to be able to get at least 1-2 spells in before they throw up the next one.

 

So my question is, would it be possible to somehow put a cool-down on Wards when they break? Or pehaps extend the stun period allowing for some spells to get in?

 

That would mean that a mage character can't just breeze through the game with wave-clearing magic, but at the same time would remove the frustration inherent with the playstyle.
