Help! Only SkyUI and Quality Maps work. Other mods don't!

Hello,

 

I am using the latest vortex version, modding Skyrim Special edition. I have SKSE, SkyUI, Quality Maps Paper and Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch. My mod staging folder and mod download folder are in the same main vortex folder, and in the same driver (D:) as my game directory (steam). The problem i am having is that, when i launch SKSE, SkyUI and Quality Maps work, but every other mod i try to install after doesn't work and doesn't appear in MCM. I have all mods enabled and deployed.

I have looked at a lot of other posts but couldn't find a solution.

If anybody can help i would appreciate it.

When you say your Downloads and Mod Staging folder are in the same Main Vortex folder...do you mean in the Vortex INSTALL folder (something like C:\Vortex, or D:\Vortex) or in the C:\users\<YOUR NAME>\appdata\roaming\Vortex folder?

Because if you have a C:\Vortex, or D:\Vortex folder, and you put the download and mod staging folder INSIDE that folder, then all of your mods are going to go *POOF* on the next upgrade.

 

Which Mods do you 'install afterward" that don't show up in MCM? Not every mod has an MCM Menu entry

Hi!

My mod staging folder and download is in the D: drive, in a folder called Vortex Mods with nothing else but those two folders, because the program told me it should be in a empity folder. The folder in C:\users has a lot of folders and files, including a folder called skyrimse, but i don't have the vortex folders there- Is the C:\ the install folder you refer to?

I tried installing enhanced fx, wich i don't know if it has a MCM menu, and perseid inns and taverns, wich i think it has.

My plugins are all in order, enabled, deployed and sorted.

How long are you waiting for the MCM menus to show up?

Some can take a couple of minutes to 'register'

You could always install this Jaxon's MCM Kicker which kickstarts the MCM menu for slow Mods with an MCM Menu

I tried to install campfire and frostfall after i installed jaxon's mcm to try it out, more than 5 min and nothing shows up in the MCM. But i did get a notificiation saying a script extender plugin failed to load with campfire.

It's really weird, only SkyUI and Quality maps seem to work, other mods i try, like Enhanced Fx, don't seem to work at all, don't know what else to try.

Should i put the mod staging folder in the C:Users Vorter folder?

No, don't do that.

 

OK, check SETTINGS---------->MODS-------->Deployment Method does it say Hardlink Deployment?

Yes, the Aplly button is greyed out, but when i deploy mods there's no notification error.

Go to the PLUGINS tab, are all of the plugins ENABLED?

 

 

 

 

Also check the EXTENSIONS tab, and make sure the following extensions are enabled

I would've suggested that, but the thing is, if Quality Maps works, which has an ESP, and SkyUI works etc, then there's no reason that all the other mods shouldn't work as well.

 

OK, I've got it.

When you downloaded these, did you make sure to check the DESCRIPTION page and look at the Mod REQUIREMENTS?
