Minuteman themed helmets & clothes

I've been equipping the Minuteman settlers and multiple items are used by attackers, so I'm afraid I'll mistake who's on my side. I've been wondering if there's a way to get blue versions of Combat armor helmet, (Dirty) Army helmet, Metal helmet & Military fatigues (perhaps also Road leathers) since the Minuteman flag is that color; perhaps another theme can be used as long as it's easily discernible from common settlement attackers.

I'm thinking there could be 2 ways to go about this:

  1. Add a settlement workshop container, which putting one of the affected items in will ask which version to stock (ie: you transfer 1 gun, 1 chest piece, 2 plain Metal helmet & 3 Minuteman metal helmet in the new empty container, an interface comes up asking if you'd like plain or Minuteman version, choosing the latter will have it now contain 1 gun, 1 chest piece & 5 Minuteman metal helmet).
  2. Adding a paint mod for the affected items.

Thank you for your consideration

Thank you for the suggestion. While it's certainly better than no difference and the palette the mod uses could have been harder to differentiate, I wished it would be easier to discern at a glance; during combat it's important to recognize one's allies. Since I don't want to spend 1 oil for every piece or armor, I've done so with helmet and chest piece ad in this screenshot, the heavy variety on the right and sturdy on the left

actually since this forum attachment size cap is not that high, it's a cropped version of the full here.

I wish the Military fatigues or Road leathers could be tainted so I wouldn't have to paint the chest piece and there would be a differentiation on settlers which I equipped non-combat armor (the vast majority of the times is it's something better). Also I only had a bit > 30 Combat armor helmet, but > 100 Dirty Army helmet & Metal helmet (each); I guess I'll use the console command to give myself Combat armor helmet and remove the same quantity of others, although I feel it's cheating as it upgrades.

Update 1:

Also, I had Minuteman Army so I had to disable it. I tried to make a test how the random Minuteman around the wasteland look like; in my game there used to always be some of them at the Milton car dealership, but after loading the mod none was there anymore. Hopefully it's just a coincidence and there's still some randoms and they're decently equipped.

Instead of using we are the minutemen, you could try the listed mods in the credits part of we are the minutemen description page.

They reskin some armors, or add standalone versions of outfits.

I've looked at your suggestion and it wasn't quite as I wanted. So I searched for a mod that added a coat that would appear over the armor, or the like, and hoped it would include a blue variety, or other hues that wasn't too far off. While doing the former, I read some mod description or forum thread, I found a link to More Armor Slots; I didn't immediately found some use to it, I later though perhaps some regular outfit would be sufficiently bulky enough to clip over a decently large portion of the settler and close to blue would be a decent workaround.

Well I think a Bathrobe would do just hat but even though More Armor Slots is installed, I can't get both the previous clothing (mostly Military fatigue) and Bathrobe to be worn at the same time. I've used Mod Organizer 2 to enable More Armor Slots. I guess worse case I could have the settler only equip Bathrobe and, since Military fatigue does include the effect, manually do "modav agility 2" but I'd need to remember to do the same adding '-' before the # if I ever unequip Bathrobe. Although the clipping isn't ideal, I find the worse visually with this setup is the NPC wears slippers. Here's a collage of it

and since there's attachment limitations, there's the full version.

Update 1

I think I misunderstood; that the mod doesn't allow 5 all-slots clothing, but 1 all-slots clothing and 1 armor for each of those slots. It seems I'll have to find blue clothing that provides Agility +2 or that I do the modification as above.

Update 2

It ended up looking like post #10 of Blue Agility +2 clothing or outfit :: Fallout 4 General Discussions.
