Grimhaven Castle

I have no knowledge or talent when comes to modding on the CK, but have many ideas that maybe some talented modders or teams might want to take on. One in particular I would love to see being made by teams such as Haem Projects. I call it Grimhaven Castle. Its a large quest/player home mod, but I haven't fleshed out any major details, just a rough idea. It's largely inspired by the flying fortresses mentioned in the original Dragonlance book series and the animated Castlevania series on netflix. As the the last sentence implies, it is a flying castle. Below is the rough synopsis of the idea I had:

Mod Synopsis:

 

A flying castle quest/player home mod. The kingdom of Grimhaven and Grimhaven Castle/Citadel is in a new world space and the castle itself is on the scale and size of Sjel Blad castle, the dark fantasy style of the gothic Raven castle, with a dark forest and gloomy fog atmosphere. The attention to detail like in Maple manor. Magic, mythical, and mystery theme like in immersive college of Winterhold (all mods for skyrim to get an idea of what i'm looking to do) including lots of interactable/dynamic objects. Some heavy daedric/vampire/werewolf themed areas. Powered by a system that uses dark or daedric magic to power the whole castle and other features. Explore dozens of secret doors, passages, rooms and other locations throughout the castle including several dungeons such a catacombs network similar to the one in France under the city. Dynamic objects such as the treasure in the vault that grows as more gold in placed in it. Animated oblivion gates you build and use to travel to various daedric realms to explore and learn to harness the power of the castle’s features including the ability to fly among other cool powers.

 

Manual flight, fast travel, and cruise control to the major holds to allow players to admire the scenery as it flies through the sky. Highly customizable features such as banners, guard types, tapestry, drapes, etc. Build your own style mod, build the castle from ruins using magic to lift the rubble and various structures into place. Build up a huge walled city with a moat and drawbridges from the ground up. Gain an income through taxes from the villagers. When it flies, the castles drops debris into a large crater it leaves behind (can land back into the crater) and newly created waterfalls cascade from the flying landmass above. New explorable area in the crater and quests delving into a mighty dungeon involving it. A large dragons perch sits on one side of the castle where dragons land next to a hatchery allowing you to capture, breed and raise dragons from hatchling to full grown elder.

 

Mythical and giant terrifying creatures roam the lands outside the city. Gargoyle statues that come to life to protect the city and castle. Some you fight when starting the quest or from exploring. A main quest about the history of this cursed land and castle and what happened; among other side quests. New followers and NPCs such as the ancient lord, Norrec Grimhaven, the name sake of the castle. With the power used to rebuild the castle unlocked, also attempt to raise the ruins of Winterhold from the ruins from the ocean floor and rebuild it into the mighty city it once was (a secret end quest story). Add patches for legacy of the dragonborn and other mods to make them compatible and interact with each other.

 

Main quest: The former lord, Norrec Grimhaven, tested the patience of the daedra for the last time with his hunger for power. When he invaded their respective realms and stole some of their power to enhance his own and his kingdoms. In an act of revenge, the daedra cursed him and his homeland for his hubris and arrogance. While his country and people withered and slowly died, becoming undead; he did not(still human for the most part). He became immortal only to witness the fall of his kingdom and to live forever in the darkness of the ruins of what became his new home; trapped in a pocket dimension of oblivion which can accessed in secret entrance somewhere on the ocean floor near an island off the coast of Winterhold. Trapped in this pocket dimension, Norrec has slowly become insane from the isolation and death surrounding him. That is until the Dragon Born discovered globe leading to the pocket realm and hopefully with their help, Norrec and his people can be freed from this curse and he can regain his sanity (will have to fight him). Upon completion he will become mortal again and become a companion to the player. The cities population will be free to finally rest in peace, the lands become the players to claim and rebuild into the mighty city and citadel that it once was. Including rebuilding the armies and navy. Maybe even have a army of dragons from the hatchery. New factions that you can create including the royal family/dynasty you will create after the main quest.
