spyroreignitedtrilogy Request - Fix or remove HUD (or help me learn to do it myself)

Normally, in 16x9, the HUD elements are displayed outisde the top and bottom of the screen and slide into the display area when they are needed, but I am using a CRT monitor and Flawless Widescreen to play in 4x3 aspect ratio. The taller aspect ratio causes all the HUD elements to always be displayed on my screen and then move in towards the middle of the screen when they slide.

 

I don't like all the clutter always on the top and bottom of the screen and moving in towards the center. I would be happy with either moving the HUD farther to the top and bottom so it works correctly in 4x3 aspect ratio or just removing it completely and using the guidebook to see my stats, whichever solution would be easier for the modder.

 

If this isn't something someone wants to do, I wouldn't mind downloading some programs and trying to do the mod myslef if it's not that difficult, but I don't know anything about modding and don't know where to begin. I'm not even sure what programs would be needed.
