casual mod user->casual mod maker! (for a student project)

Hello everyone! As the title implies, I've never engaged much with the community and just downloaded a few simple mods here and there for Skyrim and MGSV. I'm currently in a computer graphics class right now where one of the projects we can do is to make a mod (something lighting, texture, or fluid/cloth simulation related)! I've been into gaming since my first experience with the N64 and I would love to apply what I've learned to a thing I'm familiar with and see how it changes.

 

I have a general idea of how modding works, but I just thought I would poke around here and in other forums to get a sense of what's too ambitious given time constraints, technical limitations, logistics of console/PC modding, what I can/can't do legal-wise lol.

 

So yeah, I just wanted to say hello and I'm excited to learn stuff from you all :')
