Please help with weird fps bug. Please read

Hello. I have been modding the fallout series for some time now. No matter what, I always get this issue and I haven't been able to complete one modded playthrough without raging out and uninstalling only to retry a couple days later. So I modded my game perfectly to my liking. My fps was butter smooth 60 without stutters or fps drops or anything. I have progressed enough into my playthrough to become level 29 and I'm currently in Old World Blues. I completed a couple quests and then all of a sudden my fps was horrible. It likes to stick to 40 but it can drop down to the high 28s and 29s and it doesn't go any higher than the 40s. Whats odd is that the fps issue is linked to my save game. If i go to MY earlier saves, my fps is right back to being butter smooth with no fps drop. If I continue through the dlc the issue occurs again. When I disable my enb the fps doesn't change. If I disable all my mods the fps doesn't change. I tried cleaning the save and no change. I used "coc goodsprings" to teleport to goodsprings to see if the fps was bad there or if it was dlc related. My fps in goodsprings was horrible all of a sudden. Getting 20's in goodsprings. This is really frustrating because if I just load an earlier save my fps is locked 60 everywhere I go. Can someone please tell me whats going on? I'll attach screenshots to show the issue. Someone please help me complete a playthrough for once. For those who cant tell in the screenshots. My fps in the low fps screenshot is 38 compared to 60 in the earlier save screenshot. My gpu usage also is 37 compared to 51. My cpu however is hotter in the lower fps screenshot. I don't understand :(

If your problem appears to be linked to a specific "save game" (and thereafter) then you should start by looking into how you are saving. But also, did you make ANY changes to your load order, such as installing any updated versions of plugins?

* Please see the paragraph about "auto-saves" under the 'Essentials for Getting Started' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article. If you have been using the built-in "auto-save" feature and you get the endless "roulette wheel" when loading a save game, then your current save game file is corrupted and you will have to either go back to a save before the corruption occurred (hard to tell) or start over.

In your specific case, if your FPS drop is not present in one save and immediately obvious upon loading the next, what changed? Something did. Was it something you did during a quest or did you get a "Windows system update", or pickup a particular weapon/item? Can you reproduce the problem or otherwise pin down the cause? (How annoying the problem is to you determines how much time and effort you are willing to spend determining the cause. It is specific to your setup.)

* If you have more than one mod that makes any change to the same record or set of records in the vanilla game, then you really need to use a "Merge Patch File" with that collection of mods. Please see the 'Third Rule: The Rule of One' and 'Merge Patch File' sections of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article. When in doubt, create a "Merge Patch" file for your overall "load order" anyway.

* Do you have "New Vegas Stutter Remover" (NVSR) installed? If so, please see the 'Issue: CTD after 10-20 minutes of play (post-Win10 2017 FCU)' and 'Issue: CTD without warning, "Out of Memory error", or stops responding after the Main Menu' entries in the 'Solutions to "Crash To Desktop" (CTD) problems' section in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. Note the default NVSR settings do not work with Win10, but there are some recommended by the author for Win10 further down in the article.

:* Currently, the recommended alternative to NVSR, if you are running Win7 or Win10, is to try using the "New Vegas Tick Fix (NVTF)" mod instead. However, until NVTF includes the option, you may want to continue to use NVSR for the "iThreadsFixedToCPUs" setting. However, use of NVSR along with NVTF is unsupported.

* Related to the NVSR problem, for problems AFTER a save game is loaded see also 'Issue: Incomplete save game load' in the "Troubleshooting" guide.

* If you are suddenly having a "slowdown" or lag; or a lack of sound; or problems getting NVSE to load, or really anything new unexpectedly, please see the 'Issue: NVSE - fails to load after update KB4058043 to Win10 FCU (v1709)' entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. This may be due to an on-going series of Windows Updates for the "Meltdown and Spectre Vulnerabilities".

I will also suggest you cut down on the hyperbole. 60FPS is not a requirement to finish the game. Mid-to-high 20FPS is certainly playable. It may be annoying when you are used to 60, but it is not "unplayable". The further you get into the game, the more things you discover and the game has to keep track of. That bogs down the processing. You may have a beast of a box, but the game was designed for a 2010 XBox console and is restricted to using at most (with the 4GB Patch) 3.8GB of memory. Hardware cannot overcome design limitations. Impatience is how people tinker themselves into a broken game. Nothing wrong with trying to determine "why" you are slowing down, but sometimes you just have to live with the limitations.

If anyone else is having this same issue, I found out the cause. The mod was project reality's weather. This mod apparently has broken scripting and causes severe fps drops over time. I disabled and switched weather mods, loaded into the game and bam 60fps locked again. Hope this helps.

Hey listen buddy don't tell me what you think is playable or what peoples expectations should be. Everything you said in your reply I already knew. When you are running on an unlocked framerate (besides the fact it can't go above 60) and its going from 42 to 28 constantly yes it is unplayable. Maybe you can suffer through the stutter and slowdown and if you can good for you buddy  I wasn't saying the framerates themselves were unplayable. If you give me a locked 30 I'll play on that all day.

I'm back to my 60 fps locked with enb and texture mods anyways so thanks for the attempt at helping. Your response would have been perfect without that last paragraph. Cheers bud ;)
