DOF should have minimal impact on performance

The Real intensive ENB settings that can have a huge impact on FPS as well as GPU tempertures are:

Ambient Occlusion

Followed by the SSAO_Sil setting

Followed by: UseComplexAmbientOcclusion

(these above will be the most demanding ENB Settings)

Tweak the Strenght of SSAO_Sil (Search for it in the enbseries.ini), until you get desired Framerate, or alternatively disable Ambient Occulsion or can also try disabling Complex Ambient Occlusion or both, however this will have a big impact on Visual Fidelity, but likewise will make a significant difference in FPS, however bare in mind that the game also has its own Ambient Occlusion setting as well which also works with ENB own Ambient Occlusion, so running that combined with ENB can significantly increase visual fidelitly but at the cost of a pretty significant fps hit, depending on hardware. for me, that has a Gtx 1070 + i7 7700k this is not an issue, could easily sustain 60+ fps. as an example.

beyond that, it then comes down to the mods you use:

Landscape mods can have a big performance impact such as Tree Mods, Grass, etc etc especially if you have all of these drawing shadows

Shadows will have an impact on performance, especially as its the CPU that draws them, and the CPU is of course not as powerful as the GPU, lowering the shadow draw distance will give more fps, depending on your setup this can be quite significant boost to fps, especially if Skyrim is anything like fallout 4, where maximum distance shadows would completely destroy the fps

Godrays will also have an impact, and again depending on your setup this performance impact can be quite significant, especially if its anything like fallout 4 where godrays was another major factor in fps tanking (disabling this can make a big difference)

Running a lot of Ultra HD textures/meshes and high poly objects can have an impact, as these would affect Vram Consumption, which in turn means if you run out of Vram, this will greatly effect performance, assuming the game/system does not ouright crash, technically it should not, as this game should in theory use System Memory, when their is no more Available GPU memory. i have had the game completely use all Availble Vram with absolutely no issues (as everything is in atleast 2k, 4k and above where applicable). so i am pretty sure that is the case with regards to the game using System Memory, when their is no more Avaible Vram

without knowing your modlist, we cant really help any further

Lastly Make sure, Vsync is completely disabled, both in ENB and Skyrim Prefs, and override it with your GPU settings, forcing it off

Use the ENB Framerate limiter instead. (found in the enblocal.ini)

also ensure that you read everything on the main description page for Re-Engaged, such as disabling the settings it recommends. such as Enhanced Ice Shaders, and the like.
