Quick question

Hello,

I am returning to modding some games and I am using Vortex. I used the old mod manager previously which with the help of Gophers youtube videos which went fine. And again I checked out some Gopher videos and so far seems to be going ok. I am only looking at having 20 or so mods for Skyrim special edition and maybe modding some fallout 4 later but nothing major.

So I downloaded the script extender and used vortex and successfully launched Skyrim via the script extender and checked it etc and I have down loaded about 8 mods so far, installed and enabling them seems fine I looked on the mods list and deployed all the mods ..I think?

So my question is, In Vortex I don't get a specific load order list for Skyrim, in the 'plugins' section seems to be where you can auto sort the load order etc right? But vortex, when I installed it came with a whole bunch of stuff for different games like Hothtrooper and Iceworld penguin and so on and when I go to check the list in plugins they are all mixed up in there together and there is just one list. So am I missing something here or is that how it is meant to be? So these other mods that came with vortex are not in the mods list but showup in the plugins list greyed out. But why don't I see the association of the mods with the game they are intended for as different lists etc? The plugin list is meant be all jumbled up like that?

Sorry for being a noob and thanks for any pointers.

Vortex takes care of the load order for you. If you need to change anything you can assign loading rules or groups, but generally Vortex (powered by LOOT) will get you most of the way to a stable setup. Manually moving each plugin individually is just a "bad habit" that NMM has got a lot of users into. It's not anywhere near as important in Vortex.

Thankyou for that response.

I definitely have no desire and little aptitude to mess around with load orders etc and just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed something. So yeah it seems fine otherwise thankyou I'll give it a shot.

Cheers.

Just wanted to add,

My latest foray into modding is going great thanks. But it also occurred to me that for a very little cost and time investment Nexus provides a huge amount of content and enjoyment.

So it is not pretentious of me to say a big thankyou very much

Cheers.
