Changing resolution on nvidia MX250 ?

I bought a new laptop and installed SkyrimSE on it. Its graphics card is a MX250 2GB which is a low-range GPU but according to reviews it should be able to run Skyrim and other recent games decently.

The problem is, it should support resolutions 640×480 1280×720 1366×768 1600×900 1920×1080 2560×1440 3840×2160, but in the SkyrimSE Launcher the only one available is 1920×1080, which runs like crap

I installed the latest NVIDIA drivers but its utility (tray icon) only has tweaks for 3D stuff/physics/antialiasing, nothing about resolution. I'd like to choose 1366×768 or 1280×720, anyone out there knows if there is a way I can force it?

You could change it in your SkyrimPrefs.ini and see if that works. Make iSize H=720 and iSize W=1280, or whatever resolution you wish that the game will support. To find the lines hit ctrl+f and enter the line you wish to alter; iSize H for instance.

I have never used this but have seen other threads that say they have used this successfully. I figure it is at least worth a shot.

Since the application controls the resolution of the application, you have to use the resolutions available in the game settings. If all it has is 1982 x 1080, that is what you use. You can change the draw time by lowering the detail settings.

In the NVIDIA control panel you should have an option to change the resolution in the drop down menu under "Display". However, this will change the resolution of your monitor.

In the nvidia control panel I only have the 3D Settings menu. So after reading your comment I searched the web and read that this is supposed to happen when you have a computer with a dedicated graphics card + an integrated one, and that the suggested fix is to disable the integrated graphics. It didn't work, so I uninstalled and reinstalled the Intel driver, rebooted, and now I have many resolutions I can choose from. Don't ask me why it works, I don't know

Thanks everybody.
