[LE] Creating custom follower but hair mod wont work with it?

Recommended Posts

Hi all! I'm new to modding and I'm trying to create my own custom follower (or perhaps fix Argis after I messed him up trying to edit him...) using Creation Kit

(I also downloaded SSEedit and Nifskope but don't know how to use them yet.)

I've made a new follower and he's showing up in-game and everything's fine, except when I try to add KS Hairdos.

After I load a hairstyle on him from KS Hairdos, he shows up with his default vanilla hair and a dark face.

I read somewhere that Creation Kit won't allow for more than one master file to be used (?) and KS Hairdos is a master file, so they suggested editing the plugin with SSEedit but when I tried, it didn't make any sense to me so.

I'm just wondering how I can fix this so I can load a cool hairstyle on him. I also have ApachiiSkyHair and I haven't tried that yet but I would like to use one from KS Hairdos.

Any help would be so appreciated! Thanks!

Hello

Open your SkyrimEditor.ini in the game directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim), search for and/or add/change the appropriate entries ):

Under [General] search for and/or add/change the appropriate entries:

bAllowMultipleMasterFiles=1
bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1

*note - The SkyrimEditor.Ini will likely show as just SkyrimEditor and will be tagged as type 'configuration settings', and can be opened and modified with notepad.

Here are some web links, hopefully one of them will help:

KS Hairdos in Mod Issues

Multiple Esms and Hair Mod Reddit Topic

In the topic there, one of the responses indicates inputting DawnGuard, HearthFires, and DragonBorn into the SkyrimEditor.Ini - if your *not* accessing those in the editor, then just ignore that part. Apart from that, maybe there is something that will help there.

Dark Face Bug Fix

It sounds like this is not the issue, as your Npc was showing up fine until the hair was added, but at least you may want know about this in case the issue does show up.

Lastly, if your still having issues with multiple Esm's, there is a topic that's been around a long time about the multiple master files, in case there may be something in there that may help:

Good luck with your mod :smile:
