Graphics mods working, scripts prevent game from opening when enabled

Whenever ANY mod that isn't graphics related in enabled on my Vortex, when I run the script extender my computer will process for a few seconds and then just give up and not open anything. As soon as the mod is removed and the extender is ran again, it opens perfectly. The only mods I am able to get to work through Vortex are graphics packs.

I haven't had any issues with Steam Workshop or the inbuilt Bethesda modding area and all these mods work fine, I've also tried disabling all of these which also hasn't worked.

I've tried testing out bunch of mods but even simply enabling the Skyrim Unofficial Patch through the Vortex and nothing else will prevent the game from opening.

Any help in this would be very much appreciated as I'm at a loose end right now. :)

Make sure you're installing mods for the correct version of the game. The insta-crash is usually caused by installing Skyrim 2011 mods into Skyrim SE.

I made an extension to check for this which can be found in the Extensions -> Find More menu under "Bethesda Archive Check".

Pick ONE mod manager. From your post it sounds like you are using at least three (Vortex, Bethesda ingame, and STEAM Workshop). They will all fight each other.

Thanks so much, this worked perfectly! For some reason I was using the Legacy version (whatever that is) of the patch.
