Interesting.  Unless I'm mistaken, Vortex isn't saying that "people don't need manual load order", they're simply saying that they don't want to support it (not putting words in their mouths here, just saying).  And I AM saying that the average mod user IS too inexperienced AND too lazy to be trusted with manual LO, but I in no way am saying that experienced mod users AREN'T.  So for the advanced/competent mod user, by all means use MO, but the kind of snobbery involved in coming to a Vortex release page and complaining that it isn't as good, or provides as much freedom, or that it should provide something it doesn't is a kin to Linux users going to a Microsoft release note and complaining about some feature that's not part of it because "Linux lets me do <whatever>".

As for "dictating the narrative", it's their product and they can do whatever they damned well decide they're going to do since last time I checked, Vortex was a f*cking free product!!  You're free to complain about Nexus Mods wanting premium or whatever, but don't bash on Vortex about that since it's totally unrelated.

As always A.W.E.S.O.M.E!!

And please, please, please. Add an option to RE-DEPLOY the mods. Sometimes (like today) a mod was downloaded, installed, enabled, but the deployment pop-up (ugh..) didn't popped up! A manual re-deployment button just maybe near the 'Check-for-updates' button above the mods would suffice. (I think it should check if the the '__folder_managed_by_vortex' file exists in the mod-folder of the checked mod and simply re-deploys all files from that mod!?)

Thank you for your great work!

Try this; open MO2 and have someone who has never modded before watch you download, install, and tweak mods for about 10 minutes without explaining what you are doing. Then do the same thing with Vortex and ask them if they would rather use MO2 or Vortex.

MO2 is great but it is not new user friendly. If a novice modder wants to download a few mods and play? Vortex is easier.

I am only replying to offer you a point of view you may not have considered. More options are always a good thing and players can like MO2 or Vortex and neither is wrong.

Does the toggle at Settings -> Interface -> Automation -> Deploy Mods when Enabled not cover your use case?

As someone who has used both Mo and NMM/Vortex for years, I fully agree with Tail's comment. Don't come here and bash vortex, they're a different mod manager, not an enemy mod manager. Jfc.

Unrelated to Vortex but I just noticed today that the search system reverted to the older one. after the previous update (or a couple of updates ago) the site changed so that searches had to include the exact word where as previously it would accept the word as part of a larger word (As in if you typed "Dragon", the change made it so you wouldn't see anything that said "Dragons"). I like the reversion the old system is better in this case thanks for bringing it back

There is such a feature available in Vortex but it is experimental. It's called "Move deployment". (See image.)

A feature I been keen to see is a way to backup your mods, game saves and their deployment methods into a file and allow you to transfer that to another pc and unpack.
It would be like switching pc's like you never left your own or hours spent building the best mod list not to be lost to critical failures and forced game updates ruining everything.
Maybe even allow users to upload their own backup on the nexus they can download anywhere (probably not a good idea at time of writing).
