Tranquility Lane Issue - No Pip boy

Greetings,

I've tried everything. Non of the custom fixes works for me since my latest quick save is inside Tranquility lane. I really got a good charachter and good gameplay on this one.

I managed to get so far that I've finished the quest. I did console commands to get the pip boy back. However when i press tab it doesnt work. When i used the command "remove all items" it seems to have reset most of the stuff (hence thinking im outside of the simulation)

 

I'm using the custom race mod.

 

My question is:

1. Is there anyway to enable the pip boy in the fallout.ini files? I believe that going into the simulation probably changes the pipboy functions from 1 to 0. How do i change this back?

2. Is there a command to get my inventory back?

 

Is there any way around this? I've spent many hours trying to find a workaround instead of starting a new charachter including installing a new pip boy mod which didnt work.

Not an issue, it is a feature.

 

When you enter the simulation, the pipboy is removed and replaced with a pipboy style watch. It is part of the game. VATS is still available.

 

While in the simulation, you have no inventory since you are a child and haven't done anything to obtain an inventory.

 

When you exit the simulation to the "real world" you will have your inventory.

 

I know of no workaround since it is all part of the game.

The issue is that Im using the custom race mod and when I exit TL none of my items are returned. The game is stuck and thinks I'm still there and no command works to get my stuff back.

I also have an issue with this part, when I enter the simulation no items are removed.

But when I exit the simulation after running the failsafe program. all items are removed.

And I have no pipboy, my solution so far is to place all items in a container prior to entering the simulation and equipping the pipboy through console.

Yes, at least for custom pipboys the solution is to remove such mods before entering Tranquility or Anchorage (or the Zeta spacewalk, which can also sometimes cause a similar issue). By the way, TTW has the same issue, and warn about it in their FAQ.

 

There's a newly posted FO3 mod here by humej to address the issue, presumably as it pertains to just Tranquility:

But essentially it apparently just scripts these console commands, which you could attempt yourself, AFTER exiting the simulation (or the Zeta spacewalk) if you find your custom pipboy is missing or screwed up somehow:

Open console (¬ or ~ on keyboard) and type: enableplayercontrols

Then press enter, then type: player.equipitem 15038 1

Then press enter, then type: resetpipboymanager

Then press enter. Then exit console.
