Does anyone know of a good mod that allows you to command your mount(n

I have Tharanthiel's Deer Mount http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/9727 I haven't used it yet because I don't like getting really awesome or overpowered stuff right off the bat(note saying I own castles as I exit sewers), but am interested in being able to tell a mount to stay or follow or call it from a distance.

Command Mount sounds like a good one but unfortunately I can't do obse which is required for that one.

There is another one I found called Mount Interaction which sounds about right but it only has 2 endorsements and requires modifying an ini file which I don't know if I'm competent enough to do without explanation.

So just wondering if anyone out there knows of some good mod with no obse that allows you to order your mount around.

Thanks

(also any animal taming mods out there sort of ultima online style?)

OBSE is a requirement for many newer Oblivion mods.

yea i noticed haha, all the ultra mods.. still Ive managed to get dozens of mods in that Im pretty stoked about. Just takes a bit more searching but nothing revolutionary like the combat system mods

I resisted for quite a while myself, but OBSE has a BORG-like quality about it.

In the end switching to OBSE wasn't a big deal at all. The only caveat I can add is that OBSE won't work with any of the download versions of Oblivion except the Steam version (all disk versions are fine but the GameStop/Impulse and Direct2Drive versions aren't compatible).

Re: Mount Interaction

Endorsements are an indication of popularity, not necessarily quality. There are many, many good mods out there that have been overlooked and if you look at this mod author's other work there are endorsements aplenty. Having said that, I have no idea as to the quality of this particular effort but it is certainly worth trying given your 'no OBSE' restriction.

The ini file allows you to change the key used and to alter the time delay that differentiates between a 'normal' keystroke and a 'long' one. Use notepad or similar to open and edit it, nothing to be afraid of assuming you take normal backup precautions and/or keep the original mod archive.

I downloaded the mod. Havent gotten around to a mount yet. Modifying the ini is just for if you want to change the existing values though correct? I should be able to use it as is ?
