Problem: Vortex wants to finalize download folder in non-existent directory

Hi,

The external hard drive (E:\) that had my Vortex installation recently crashed and now when I re-install Vortex on another drive (Z:\), I have the issue that Vortex tries to finalize downloads folder creation in the old directory "E:\" and I can't make the prompt disappear so I can change the location to "Z:\".

 

See attached picture for error message.

 

I have added Vortex to my exception list in my anti-virus program (Malware Bytes/Windows Defender).

 

My operating system: Windows 10 Pro x64

My version of Vortex: 1.3.21

Did you go into SETTINGS-->DOWNLOADS-> And change the location of the DOwnload Folder there?

The problem is that i can't make the error prompt disappear - it "blocks" my access to the menu system. I can't click on anything that's blurred in the attached picture. Clicking retry in the prompt only makes the prompt instantly reappear.

Well, you're not going to like this, but you need to wipe out the C:\users\YOUR NAME\appdata\roaming\Vortex folder in order to reset vortex.

Then reinstall vrotex right over the top of your current installation.
That way you can start fresh
