LE Anyone Agree That The College Is A Bit Empty?

There should be much more to it. More students and such.

 

Even better idea, overhaul Winterhold to be an entire college campus! I'd do it myself but I don't have the creation kit. If I did though, I'd love to stick it on here.

Well, that's an idea and valid suggestion for mod. But there is a reasoning behind the relative emptiness.

 

First the Nords don't like magic and mages that much and do like to make it clear.

 

Second, Winterhold was almost swept from the map and many blame the college for it.

 

Finally, the college seems to be in such disarray that one my characters became the archmage and was not more than novice in any magic school :)

 

Well, these are just rationales, there is nothing actually saying the college could not have more students. Actually I believe to have seen a huge mod with a whole college somewhere south and near Markath (not sure about the city name but you know that stone city at the map's west end).

 

Edit: Oblivion at least forced the character to advance step by step before getting a chance to become master of the guilds (not only the mage's guild actually).

The College, Companions, Thieves Guild, and Dark Brotherhood could use respawning companions for realism, but only if you became the head of that organization..

Yeah it would be cool to see the halls bustling with people. Maybe just nameless NPCs such as "student" like the hunters or guards?

Can add a new door that goes to a class room like in the bards college with students sitting on benches and a teacher at the front saying things or casting various spells

If you want it visually better then there is the obvious Immersive College of Winterhold mod which is very nice indeed and makes the place FAR more attractive and "migicy".

There are also TONS of mods which add NPC's to the college, some with Quests and some just act as merchants etc but if you use enough of them the place fills up quite nicely. Most mods that touch the college tend to have patches for Immersive Colege too as it is a very popular mod. Bash patch the whole lot into a single esp and it should be very close to what you want.
