Downloaded first mod, can't get it to work

I was watching Gopher's guides on Youtube and the mod he downloaded to show how to download a mod and make sure it's working after downloading Vortex was "A Quality World Map". I downloaded the mod straight to the Mod Manager then installed it on Vortex but after installing it a Vortex notification popped up saying "Missing Master" when I clicked more on it it said it depends on "Dragonborn.esm" I'm playing on Skyrim, not Skyrim SE, and I don't have any of the dlc's but when I checked the mods listed requirements on Nexusmods the only requirement says to have the base game. When I try to launch Skyrim after installing and enabling the mod my Skyrim won't launch, if I disable the mod my Skyrim will then launch. Thanks.

Dragonborn is one of the DLCs. Unless you have it you can't run the mod you've chosen. As you've discovered, the REALLY bad news is that mod authors, for the most part, now assume that you have all the DLCs and don't bother listing them as requirements. Therefore, if you want to mod your Skyrim game you'll need to get the DLCs. Sorry.
