Wrye Bash vs Nexus Mod Manager: Is it time for me to learn a new scrip

I have made a lot of Wrye Bash BAiN Wizard scripts. A lot of them, I've uploaded a few that I had permission for, the rest are for personal use, or in case I ever get permission.

The issue is, NMM seems to be taking off a bit, and is indeed simpler than Wrye Bash.

If I want to keep with the times, do I need to give up on BAIN wizards and learn whatever language NMM uses?

I do so love Wrye Bash, but if I'm the only one using it, I'll feel like the the only guy on a horse on the freeway.

Help a conflicted modder?

There is no reason to use NMM with Oblivion, at all. Not to mention that NMM can't do all the other bajillion things Wrye Bash does. its sole selling point is automatically downloading and updating mods. Which I personally think is a terrible idea. But they didn't ask me.

So in short, no. You don't need to learn NMM scripting.

The only selling point for NMM is the flagging of mods that have a Nexus update which I would like to see BASH do. The major downside to NMM is the lack of control over mod file priority. This is important for graphic or script mods as earlier files are overwritten by later installs with NMM. BASH shows what files a mod is going to override and what files have been overridden (AKA conflicts). BASH not only allows you to order the ESM/ESP files, but also the installation order. Now I have complete control over files and EM/ESP files that NMM only partially allows.

If you take the time to learn BASH, you will have a much more stable game. I currently have 244 ESM/ESP mods activated with 251 total mods installed.
