Asset Preview Workflow Question

Hey folks,

 

I'm currently doing a new sword and had a couple of questions regarding previewing the asset. Currently, I'm doing something like this:

 

1 - Save .dds/.nif files.

2 - Start Game/Load save game

3 - Add weapon through console

4 - Exit out.

5 - Rinse and Repeat

 

I'm at the point where I need to make lots of small adjustments to dial in numbers and this workflow is cumbersome. It works, but a faster iteration loop would help immensely.

 

- Is there a way to get an accurate preview in Nifskope? I see Diffuse and maybe a slight specular but none of the shader changes I make show up. I'm making sure to Batch update, etc.

- If not in Nifskope, is the CK previewer accurate to what would be seen in-game? From the screenshots I've seen, it looks pretty generic and wouldn't be an accurate preview.
