Lordgoldmane Posted January 21, 2021 Share Posted January 21, 2021 Hi all, I seem to have trouble installing The Frontier for Fallout: New Vegas and as far as I can work out, it is related to Vortex. I'm running Vortex v.1.3.22. The specific error is as follows:Fallout-The Frontier failed to install. archive is broken: ERROR: (my desired directory) Can't open the file as an archive. The process doesn't have access to the file because it is being used by another process. I do have some other mods installed, but they are mostly armour and weapon mods and I reckon those mods being installed don't influence the download process of The Frontier. I'm not sure why it can be installed and couldn't be earlier, but I guess that solves this specific topif though! Thanks for your response Picky, I'll mark this as solved! therichard2000 Posted February 4, 2021 Share Posted February 4, 2021 Im on my second fresh install, and still having the same issue where its at -1fps upon new game loading into doc mitchells for character creation. still no idea what to do. installed on vortex. rmm200 Posted February 5, 2021 Share Posted February 5, 2021 Did you follow the Frontier installation instructions - exactly?Only mods they specify as requirements, and in the order listed. 4 GB fix is required.If you did all that - your PC may not be able to run it. It is a huge (technical term) mod and requires a recent GPU.Vortex is out of the picture after it completes the install, so you are better off asking for specific help on the Frontier support forum.
