Creating your own Clan/Guild

I saw trebtreb's Custom Sigils mod on nexus and I was thinking, is there a way to start a clan/guild with it's own sigil under your banner. Seeing as Skyrim is in a state of civil war, I am surprised Bethesda didn't include other clans/guilds looking to grasp power. Perhaps a system where you can create your own guild/clan that can be sent to take territory but also have one other very important element to it.

The one thing I saw as missing from Skyrim and it's mod list is a quest that has emotional weight to it's choices and characters/companions that are more than meet shields. Maybe have a back story to why these people rally behind you under your banner. Give them a reason to fight for you and give you a reason to not just use them as shields. The back story could be that you and a group of others are captured and made to work as slaves. The group you are with will, in a Spartacus sort of way, rally behind you and each of these characters have a past to them that you explore through dialog. No characters in Skyrim made me care if they lived or died because they were just faces most of them. The quest could after you escape and form your clan make you pick your side of Stormcloak, Imperial or Independent so that you can just ignore both and take Solitude and Windhelm yourself. Sort of in the way Fallout New Vegas let you take control of Vegas and kick out the NCR and the Legion.

I am not much of a Creation Kit expert so I can't make this but I am a writer. Something like this would be very cool in my opinion.

Thoughts?

Definitely like this idea, sadly I can't be patient enough to figure my way around CK, I don't think a mod will ever come up where the guild can take holds like with the legion and stormcloaks, but at least a guild where you can establish guild houses in the holds and where you personally have to recruit and establish relationships with the people in the holds before you can establish a guild house (not controlling the hold but definitely having a presence).

If I can get the banner made, I am not good enough to create from scratch. However, I can remake a banner. I am in the middle of creating a "guild" with backstory to the war. I do believe the reason you have not seen this already is there is a lot of work to be done. I will admit I am no where near completion however I do have the foundation and making tweaks to it. Visually I am working on the banner now. Have armor and logo. I do not want to change another exsisting banner as this will show up in these locations as well. I refuse to remove the banners from there original locations as well as I do not want to remove content someone has already created and have no need to be removed. :)

Well, I agree with Skyrim lacking some character depth in general. Frankly, the best vanilla story I've ever seen was Astrid's, and too bad they decided to kill her in the end of questline too >__> Bethesda: "You want to emotionally relate to some character? Well, f*** you guys!"

I miss the good old Oblivion's Tears Of The Fiend and Ruined Tail days. The characters added by those quest mods basically had two functions, "wait here" and "follow me". But I have always brought them along to all my journeys in game, because I felt THAT affiliated with them. That story, that personality, that character development and bonding with your follower as you progress throughout quests felt so real, it was nothing like some admirer of yours follows you and acts like a meat shield just because you told him/her to do so.

I seriously need a mod like that in Skyrim.
