So, what exactly is my problem, processing lag?

Don't expect a solution to my problem - just a narrowing off the possibilities.

What happens is, at some point, somehow, my game saves get infected, and lots of actions get delayed. Not talking to people or combat etc, that's all fine.

But things that pop up in white text in the top left of the screen, these can take AAAAGES to appear. And clicking a standing stone, warrior/thief/lover etc, can take a good minute to remove my blessing then a further 2 to apply the new one, and for the blue sparkly light on the stone to appear. I can fast travel to 4-5 new locations during this period and the notification will op up - including saving, closing down the game completely then loading up the next day. It's very odd.

So what handles these processes /is broken and causing the delay?

Is it just script save bloat or have i got something weirder going on?

Also I get like split seconds freeze every 40 seconds(?) on these infected saves.

The larger your inventory, the more items in your journal, the more followers, all affect this.

Also the number/type of mods (ENB mods, mods that add spawns/followers, etc), savegame size, preloaded frames, script issues, other computer processes/services....

There is not one thing that controls theis, but rather a number of things that affect it.

If it is getting too slow, try selling off your stuff (or at least removing it from your personal inventory) dismissing followers, getting rid of journal items that are stuck (and finishing off as many others to minimize journal space), then going somewhere interior and waiting for the game to reset (a week at least, some things take a month). A mod like possessive corpses may help with random items taking up space in your savegame.

If you use Convenient horses, it has a nice latency test you can run.

Skse also has a way of cleaning some invalid scripts, information is is the readme file when you open the 7-zip file.

...

Oh Lord, If it's something as simple as a bloated inventory I am going to be soooooo mad.

Ive had to traverse to old saves so often, and it's always after crating --- for which I alwasy stick a tonne of crafting mats in my bag, then craft like 40 armours/hands/feet/helmets acccessories etc.

Never ever thought inventory could be my bain, fiddled with so many mods!

So thank you for posting!
