Is it possible to use a xbox 360 wired controller for skyrim?

Hi all, don't know whether this is the right place to post this query but this part of the forum seemed most appropriate.

I have the cidered version of Skyrim for my mac and it works perfectly! I was wondering whether anyone has been able to connect a xbox 360 controller to play sky rim? I have downloaded the drivers to connect my xbox 360 controller to my mac but Skyrim does not recognise this controller when I try to use it?

I have scoured the internet far and wide to the point where I want to scratch my eyes out. I believe there is a program called 'controllermate' that allows you to map certain controller functions to it and enables skyrim to recognise the controller?

PLEASE if anyone out there has a solution to my problem could you please share? Yes I know some of you may think 'whats the point of getting skyrim for the pc if you want a xbox controller ... buy it for xbox ...'

Well yes I have skyrim for xbox but as there are no mods there is limited playability and the mac version offers endless hours.

Skyrim for PC has native support for X360 controllers. Your issue is not caused by Skyrim, but because you are using a cider wrapper to run Skyrim in a Mac OS (when the PC version of the game was designed for the Windows OS).
